I played a Netrunner Synapse Burnout build for my first play through. And I got so bored before I even finished the game, because it was so easy to one shot everything. Even on max difficulty.

I eventually just used console commands to max out all skills so I could play any random build I feel like. And they are all weaker than Netrunner, so it feels like shit to play.

Post 2.0 netrunner isn't as good as pre 2.0 netrunners were, not even remotely close. Synapse burnout dealing insane damage was a bug that got fixed (and even while it was around it wasn't as good as pre-2.0 netrunner builds)
Post 2.0 I'd say stealth + pistol is probably the best. That one gun you get from rogue deals increased damage to enemies with full health, it can even one shot skull marked enemies. The shinobi skill tree even gives you stealth damage effects for a few seconds after you're noticed, so you just mow everything down.

Currently I'm doing a body-int build with the Adam Smasher shotgun you get post main quest and it's amazing. I have high health + health regen for overclock and really good smart weapon tracking. I'm about to upgrade my blood pump with the associated perks too, it's great.

I only bought the game a few weeks ago on the Steam summer sale. So I have no idea what it was like before. But netrunner is by FAR the easiest build to play. You literally get to pause the game. Load every enemy up with 1-shot quick hacks, and they die instantly as soon as you un-pause the game.

And it's the only build I've seen that can do 15k+ hits.

I don't wanna grind for hours and kill the same enemies over and over. The weirdest thing is it's places like Pacifica beach that everyone recommends but it's still most groups of 3. The worldbuilding is great but the gameplay makes no sense.
They should have had gang hideouts you could repeat attack and things like that. Plus some alternatives so you could get rich quick because having to pick up guns (which is still pretty buggy you won't pick up shit half the time) and looting bodies gets old real fast. It's not RDR2 bad but it's still tedious because you gotta do it.
Another thing is just how many weapons and shit they hide for the very end game or when you've already finished the game but there's nothing to do really. Even just in terms of fighting enemies and I'm not asking for something realistic like gang fights or fighting over territory, just give me some areas where I can actually fight tons of enemies. Easy doesn't matter once you've leveled up with any build. If you have a body build and reflexes you can become really fast, high whatever it's called which blocks damage, HP regen, more enemies means you get more HP regen. So netrunning is good but it's not very fun once you've done it once. It's best coupled for a stealth build, knives/silenced pistols because you need netrunning for stealth because of all the cameras everywhere.

IDK if there are any good videos showcasing endgame level netrunning pre 2.0, but it basically made it a point and click game. Firstly, you would do that one minigame that's now just relegated to routers and it'd inflict huge debuffs to every enemy in the area. Then you'd hack the camera system. It made it so every attack was a stealth attack, so it dealt massive damage. Back then only netrunners could track you.
After that it was just a matter of how quickly you could use short circuit on enemies. Back then quickhacks also had passive effects from being in your deck, so for example contagion would make every quickhack spread more.
If you spec'd into cool aswell you could use cold blood, which gave you a variety of buffs for every kill. It'd add up very quickly.
Netrunning now isn't bad, but it's a supplimentary thing. Pre 2.0 you could do it "unarmed" and be way better than every other build anyway.

Panam loses it because you said you'd be gone for a month and it turned out to be much longer than that with no additional update.
Yeah it's a forced bad ending since there's no option to give the hospital a a contact list of people who have your permission to receive health updates, which is what happens in normal reality. It's your punishment for taking the easy way out.

One big improvement with hacking in 2.0 is being able to hack vehicles. Whether it's making a car floor it when there's an enemy in front of it, or shutting their engines during a carchase. But especially just taking over cars. They can function as another camera, but mobile. Enemies are also distractes by self-driving cars and will inspect them so it's a good way of luring them somewhere.
+ I like standing on the roof and 'surfing' on them and I do it more often than driving normally.

Despite all the game's and CDPR's flaws, the one thing they actually did very well was capturing the essence of what cyberpunk actually means as a genre.

Always struggling to survive, fighting against a system that is bigger than you can even imagine, and no matter what you do or how much progress you think you're making, you either become a part of the system or it breaks you. No amount of distractions from drugs, sex, or fake happiness with fake people can cover it up, it's all there just to desensitize you and make you passive and accepting. Slowly stripped of your humanity piece by piece, literally and figuratively, and it's still all ultimately futile in the end. No one gets to be happy because cyberpunk doesn't have happy endings. That's not what the genre is about.

These endings are all "You're doomed anyway and life sucks" or "just let johnny replace you, bro :)". They're not compelling, they're not fun, they're not even interesting because it's all majority downers.
There's only one "good" ending and it still tries to force your life to suck by coming with a caveat that your brain is magically incompatible with augments now.
When I'm a physical god with nearly my entire body augmented and replaced, my skin made bulletproof, and my eyes capable of seeing through walls, that doesn't magically go away just because the ending where you saved yourself from being mindjacked wants it to be. It doesn't even make sense with their explanation because stuff like gorilla arms are still strong regardless and you're still bullet proof.

Yeah, it's rather contrived, but they wrote they wrote the entire plot around around the "no real way out" theme, so they felt they cannot allow any sort of a happy ending since it would shoot the weight of all other endings in the leg.

It really could've worked if we had better reasons to care that much about Johnny, or rather fewer reasons not to see him as a total dick.

Overall the whole Relic plot could land much better if it was a simpler, shorter and more straightforward story. Instead they overwrote it and it sloughs off into grey meaningless goo.
