They used the same paste as they did in the switch 1, which alrdy underperformed in a cooler running switch one and was prone to drying out when you used the system a lot. It not being widely known as a console with a heat problem after 2 years shows how many switches were mostly gathering dust. I would advise a repasting asap but I don't know if tendy will brick your console if you make a small error due to their anti tempering measures.

I want simpler, smaller handhelds back. My Vita from 2013 doesn’t have ventilation and fans, yet it never gets hot. And it’s not gigantic, so I can actually take it with me somewhere without it being cumbersome. My Switch never leaves the dock because it’s just a console with a screen stapled to it. It’s laughably clunky as a handheld.

I was reading in another thread about some anons who already started looking into how to do a switch 2 breakdown and it's built in a very obtuse way almost as if they deliberately want you to break it trying to modify anything

Buying a Ferrari? a mansion next to the beach? the most expensive iPhone model? nah, you demonstrate wealth by buying a toddler system with one game.

July 2nd? Curious.
It's almost like you shouldn't use electronics that need heating, if your room is practically melting and you don't have AC.
How do you think PCs and Playstations fared during the heatwave?
That article really says nothing. Do clinical heat stress tests. This is just genuine clickbait born out of user reports from the middle of a heatwave.

Weaker hardware, but it does cost $200 less for the LCD version...
Honestly looking forward to the Deck 2, since integrated GPUs on the AMD front have improved massively since Deck 1.
>>715380492
A whole lot of Switch 2 stuff is bizarrely designed to, seemingly, keep you from getting into it. The joycon ports have blue and red stickers now which are probably there specifically as anti tamper stickers.

It's either gonna be big and powerful (or "powerful" if you're on /v/ and need to be a faggot about its weight-category) or it's gonna be smaller and weaker, there's not really any option between the two these days.

Only a retard would buy the Steam Deck 1 or the first Nintendo switch. Nintendo Switch 2 for playing Switch 1 games with better performance and hopefully a Steam Deck 2 gets announced. I’m skipping out on the current steam deck models.

The Deck 1 is still godly. It's not comparable to a console at all, it doesn't play by any console rules or limitations, it just took the convenience without any of the bullshit or abuse. It won't just be left to rot like the Switch 1 will now that its generation is over it'll keep getting tons of games and support even after the Deck 2 comes out.
>>715385338
It almost certainly will. I don't see Valve dropping that considering it's also better for battery life and they've said they're really trying to prioritize that and it's why they're holding off on just cramming in better specs now. If it's too expensive I can see them offering a cheaper LCD version alongside an OLED.
>>715385787
Lmao what a retard. It's a pc you numb nuts it will always have support. Even 20 years from now tons of new pc games will support the first deck
>>715385787
It has better support than just nuking settings below the lowest pc settings like cyberpunk did. You don't know this because you're a consolepleb, but a lot of devs do actually go out of their way to add support for the deck and they'll say so in their changelogs.
>>715385787
Oh, okay, I guess it isn't getting shitloads of games and support from valve and even the community with things like decky loader and emudeck.
>>715386063
and it’s built in such a way that even when being pushed to the limit, it’s still comfortable to hold with the grips always maintaining ambient temp
>>715386194 >Nobody, not a single developer, is making a game for Steam Deck
Actually over 80% of devs surveyed at GDC said they're making games for the Deck and only 8% said they were for the S2.

If its big then they could at least fit some decent cooling in there. If its small then it shouldn't be power hungry enough to need that much cooling.
>>715380248 >It's as much a handheld as a laptop
thats a good way to put it. there is nothing about a deck or switch or asus zog ally that is more comfortable or convenient to hold or carry around than a laptop and a controller. they're effectively the same and i cant wait for the form factor to die someday. i want tiny consoles again, ones that aren't just emulator chinkhelds.
>>715386542
Nah. Nintendo has the benefit of blind loyalty from its fanbase who will pay to get kicked in the balls and spat on so long as it has something to do with Mario. Doesn't mean it isn't poorly made, though.

Telling kids to not waste their money on low quality garbage is about as fruitful as convincing a Californian to stop buying Apple products every year.

Immediately denies any warranty claims. I believe they can't do that in the EU, but opening the product basically voids the warranty in the US
