>>715408627this is precisely why
the people with money always knew that their corps weren't running at high efficiency; but they didn't care because the money was still coming in and 'fixing' it involved risks and work that they didn't care to understand (aka would rely on other people telling them what to do)
but there's been changes here and there, covid made them all invest way too much into hiring extra workers to keep up with the higher demand, and so a lot of the firings are basically just adjustments made on that front, but also elon firing 80% of twitter and twitter still running totally fine showed a lot of them that the 'experts' that kept telling them they needed 16 layers of managements for every divisions within their companies were actually full of shit, and thus they'd think 'hey why wouldn't I do that too'
also there's been a few bubbles that kept growing over the last decade, and the fear of them bursting also has a big impact on this, whether you're talking about crypto or AI or military shit, everything is absolute chaos right now in the tech industry and they want to play it safe by firing any heads they know they don't 'absolutely need'
TLDR it's not going to change anything for you unless you work in the industry, don't worry about it
