I find my headset more useful for movies and tv over gaming. Trying to set up my room in a way that I don't kill myself while playing on top of the battery life draining rapidly just makes me not want to bother with gaming half the time. Movies, on the other hand become 10x more immersive. Maybe I should try playing games sitting down, but I feel like I'd just get motion sick.

I only use it for porn, and the Quest 2 doesn't have the resolution I want. Or the passthrough. I should upgrade, but I think I'll wait for Quest 4, or something else.

it's not worth upgrading to from the pico 4 and if you're buying your first headset you might as well buy the quest 3 for better support and user experience

The smartphone kneecapped VR many times over.
First the race to be the next appstore.
Then shartphone whaling started pulling focus away from actual game development.
And now locked-down Androidslop pervades the standalone market.

VR headsets are just a stopgap for smart glasses which can be used more freely.

yeah. it would be better if it used smart glass and could adjust its opacity, and do full blackout by bending closer to your face or something. that way you can decide if you want VR or AR.

That form factor will always suck. Glasses like this are not big enough to cover you full FOV, you'll see AR stuff cutting off at the top and the bottom. In the future everyone will wear ski googles like so

NO GAMES
Current technology is already good enough but there's just no game
99% of VR games are indies or tech demos

I wish I had friends to play VR with. That's all it comes down to at this point. I'm gonna go play Walkabout Mini Golf and watch Mobile Suit Gundam.

There's enough games to justify a console price point to be honest. If you ever bought a console while also having a PC, you probably played about 3-4 games on it. VR has that

All the issues with VR comes from lack of marketing. Great games go un-noticed and die with less than a thousand sales.

Such as? In the past couple of years I mean. Don't think I played one game I'd actually call good recently. Bamham maybe and even that becomes repetitive after like 3 hours. AssC Nexus is just janky trash.

im debating on getting a quest pro because it has so many features built into it, like the eye tracking for foveated rendering. it would help in dcs a lot i think. and i heard the quality of the lens is better but idk.

This goes along with what I was thinking. VR desperately needs a general category on Twitch. As of right now, you have specific title categories and VRchat. Growing streamers have no reason to stream actual VR games because it's basically guaranteed that they'll be the only one in the category.

I don't think streaming sites help at all with marketing your game. Those vr devs all reach out to shilltubers and spam tiktok shorts to market their games as well as on reddit and it makes little to no different in the amount of sales.
The meta store interface has to be one of the worst to discover new stuff. I've got a friend that plays pretty much anything that releases on quest and if it wasnt for him I'd never find anything myself.
It's the same on steam as well. Steam is great to get a bunch of a less known title to show in your recommended but the chances of getting a VR title that shows up is nil.
