You should be able to easily win most fights with harm and fireflash after you get your magic aptitude high enough. No need to spend money on weapons, armor or ammo. And companions can still craft some tech stuff for you to sell. Magnus eventually learns eye gear, although it's fairly late and if you're really desperate Jayna can turn herbs into medicine that sells for a bit. Herbs are very cheap but you only get a few per restock so it's very tedious to make money that way.
