what kind of retard thinks of a response like this?

Beamdog did a ton for the EE of NWN1 and is still updating it with new features for modders and shit. Aspyr will never patch NWN2 because they're so fucking lazy and it's insane that they only reason they got funding again is because they outsourced Tomb Raider to the community team.

They do. See it from a business perspective :
>you can add a name to your track record
>you can get funding for ah established project
>you can hire talent and brag with a established priject
>ai heavy work, meaning you can train talent in ai, basically for free, as the game will sell itself
>this combined makes it easier to get funding for a new game
Basically you can train talent for free and it's an easy way to get money/investmebts for your next gane

My suspicion is that they were planning to make a console integration but later in the development stage decided to sell it to retards on Steam, so they called it ENHANCED EDITION.

i recently played up to act 3 of nwn1, about 40 hours in, and quit cause i started to hate it. shitty encounter design (fight 15 of the same mob instead of bakdur's gate 2 style intelligent placements and mixes of melee/ranged/mages/thiefs,) every chest is locked and/or trapped and you have to wait for tomi to decide to unlock it since you can't control him directly and sometimes he will run off to fight a mob instead. you can't justify bringing any other companion cause you need a thief unless you play one yourself. the story seemed ok but wasn't enough to carry the shitty campaign along. i know multiplayer is good, never played it.

anyway i'm curious to try 2 but i might just pirate this or get the original

to be honest, this "EE" is both funny and sad.
funny because all those jeet remasters like GTA definitive edition, Mass Effect EE, Warcraft 3 reforged and so on at least tried to add something new. It was bad, but still, they tried.
but in NWN2 EE Aspyr didn't even tried at all.
i still have no idea how is it even legal to sell product like this.

It was meant for consolefags but Aspyr relized they could get some quick buck by making available on steam too

Mysteries of Westgate is all right. Storm of Zehir would be too if it were made with a different engine, but as it is, there are too many loading screens and the combat controls are aggravating.

Aspyr is great, what's not great is their executives and Embracer rushing out and barely marketing their releases.

who the fuck cares about the original release
the remake doesn't compete with the original release
it competes with the current state NWN2 which includes all bugfixes and more than a decade of mods

Everything they did after bg 1 and 2 were fine. They stopped adding cringy oc content and the ee versions were genuine improvements.
I guarantee aspyr aren't going to give nwn 2 the same level of support beamdog gave nwn 1. This shit will probably be abandoned in a week.

only the first hit in a chain of attacks of an enemy can be parried, the rest can't, which is a long standing bug that makes parry nowhere near as good as it could be
