great game if you like roguelikes. the blocky graphics are nostalgic, it doesn't detract from the game, only improves it imo.
I bought this game like 10 years ago when it went on sale, got a 4 pack for 20$ and gifted it to my bros.

It's always better with friends, but the single player mode is solid. I'd suggest a simple class like warrior/barbarian first play though so you learn all the mechanics.
protips:
>identify everything
>try to get a spellbook of light asap so you can use a shield instead of a torch
>spam shit to level it up/level your char up(cheesing kinda)
>hold onto spell reflection jewelry and capes for the harder levels that have casters
>always use amulet of life saving
>smash open everything in the level, once you leave you can't go back
super pro tips:
>be jest, start with ring of levitation, in the mines level go into the secret level
>your job is to avoid everything until you find the legendary bow, which is overpowered as fuck
>leave asap so you don't die
