The study ended with inconclusive results that were deemed conjecture by its own researchers.
Essentially the EU didn't suppress anything. They just discarded a failed study and didn't fund further research into the topic.

It's not bullshitting. the US EULA states Nintendo reserves the right to disable access to their online services as well as the right to disable the device hardware altogether. The EU EULAs in all their localized languages only state the former. Not the latter.
