Do 4-6 have any continuity with 1-3?

>>715720580Not really. I think Serenade.EXE speaks once in 6 but don't quote me on that. I also think Baryl/ Chaud lists off some of Lan's accomplishments in 5
>>715721786>have ds>play gba version of 1 and not the upgraded ds port???
>>715721895I already put a couple hours into the GBA version before I was informed of the DS port. It's a sunk cost.
>>715719826I actually like the one from 6. It's a more dynamic version of the first game's (I just wish it wasn't so compressed-sounding).
Also the enhanced version from Operate Star Force.

>>715725665Making your navis fuck each other
>>715725665Using a Roll chip as Megaman and staring at her ass while the animation plays
>>715725714Shouldn't that be the responsibility of registered NetBattlers to deal with? He's just a network researcher, he isn't responsible for keeping the web safe.
Hell, his son does far more for the problem than he ever does (in theory).

>>715721786OH SHIT THANK YOU LAN

OH SHIIIIITTT
>>715725804I would guess it's a net researcher's job to make all the firewalls / blockade cubes to limit the access from darknet viruses into the public net
>>715725804No, I'd expect SciLab should be the ones to maintain security, given that they're the ones who developed the Net. Like CopyBots, Navis should be restricted in their abilities when traveling through the Net, but instead, SciLab thinks it's funny to let goobers like FlameMan singlehandedly set the entire Net ablaze with no restrictions.
>>715725665Actually, their world is kind of limited compared to ours (2001 standards, I suppose - Ace Attorney suffers from this too).
PETs require physical conduits to connect to the web. They're incapable of communicating wirelessly except for very small transmissions (since you can get emails without being jacked in but otherwise they don't have any other connectivity), kind of like SMS or a pager.
The characters are seen using landlines to communicate over anything requiring higher bandwidth than simple emails with the occasional attachment.
At least by Star Force wireless communication is ubiquitous (albeit via EM waves rather than radio).
>>715726435I wish our world could be like theirs. Hate the fact that we live in the WORST conceivable version of a high tech dystopia.
>>715726606>Hate the fact that we live in the WORST conceivable version of a high tech dystopiaMaybe "worst" isn't the right word, but it's definitely the lamest and gayest.

>>715724835Lan's dad is literally THE most important scientist in the country and is basically on call 24/7.
>>715728274Yet he STILL makes time to create new technology like Styles and Navi Customizer for his son
>>715728274If he's really that important and crucial then he would be given an entire department to run under him and have delegation powers.
Having all that knowledge and critical necessity centered on one person who isn't afforded any real downtime would be a dire single point of failure from an organizational standpoint.
>>715726435Two things, really.
1.) Battle Network's world was crafted entirely in the early 2000s. The most advanced kind of cellphone at the time was a damn Nokia Razr. It's like how stuff in the 80s never really conceptualized that the internet or smart phones would be a thing, but jumped straight to VR and cybernetics.
2.) Japan is genuinely like that even now. Fax machines are still in service, pay phones are still a thing, and all their websites look like they're still trapped in the mid 90s. It would never occur to them that even the near future would be lacking old tech like that.
>>715728824Cleaning toilets on the moon now.
>>715728619It's almost as if that's a major plot point SEVERAL TIMES that having one person responsible for some many things is a terrible idea. Half the crisies in this series would happen if multiple people were assigned to security and back-ups were a thing.
>>715728060Honestly I think the fact it's the snotty rich girl on the verge of undignifying her underwear makes it even better to witness.

>>715727369You've got the right to carry, but you still gotta use your navi responsibly and not just start blasting on anything and everything you see.
>>715726435Later model PETs could jack-in wirelessly, but this isn't reflected in gameplay outside of a few scripted sequences.
If I remember right, the wireless connection was done with fucking IR, too, lol. Imagine trying to send a battle chip, but your wrist jerks from being held in the same place for too long and breaks the connection.

>>715730593>If I remember right, the wireless connection was done with fucking IRYou're right. >>715765643I have probably 1k hours in 4+ but I have only ever seen 1 gold mystery data and it just had some shit chip I already have 4+ of
>>715764980Pretty much. I sleep on a trundle which has been taken from the bed which it originally belonged to.
>>715765836I recall that gold mystery datas have a 1/4 chance to replace a single green mystery data, somewehre across the entire internet.
So, it becomes highly unlikely to ever encounter one in a given area.
>>715761051I will repeat from the thread where that asshole was jerking off OSS or whatever that the original game is fine.
>>715765643It just crashes the game when used in battle. It doesn't ruin your save data.
>>715760786that's a Megaman staple bro, have you played the X or the Zero games?
>>715765906that can't be more than a hundred pounds. Just move it bwro
>>715766152>have you played the X or the Zero games?no. I have played 1-10 classic at least half a dozen times each though
>why notbecause I have a friend who has shilled x to me for 25 years
>>715766243The bed is kinda pinned in by a bunch of other stuff in my room that makes it difficult to move. Not a lot of square footage. I got it though, I used a screwdriver to shimmy the SD card out.
>>715718778 (OP)My name is Junkman and I live in a garbage can. Every day I wake up and thank Light that I don't live in Nettop*a
>>715766287>because I have a friend who has shilled x to me for 25 yearsWouldn't that be a reason TO play them? It's not like when a game gets paid shilling on 4chan and the pajeet stink of which turns you off to the game. If a real human friend recommended me a game, I'd try it.
>>715766453>Wouldn't that be a reason TO play them?at this point it is a battle of wills and I still have dozens of games I want to play
>>715766447seriously who builds a folder just for junksoul
>>715766487Fair enough you're not missing much. X is just like the classics in the sense that you'd better have a guide and know the correct order to beat the bosses if you want to have any fun. fucking sucks IMO
>>715766487your loss, IMO X is superior to classic, I'm not going to shill it but again your loss.
>>715766579You jest but a consistent junksoul folder can do impressive stuff. It needs some Free Tournament chips to work though.
>>715766652How old are you and what was your first megaman
>>715766652X, back in 97.
>>715766908The games are for children and they are untrustworthy when it comes to this shit.
>>715766751>>715766805>First game was xWith all due respect, truly, opinion ignored
>>715766908Every BN assumes it's your first game so get used to it. Also the ADD feature is slightly different so they have to explain it.
>>715737340I really hated spending so much time with Lan's terrible new classmates. They should've just had Iris transfer to ACDC. (and Mayl gets really jealous)
There I fixed your game.
>>715737723Just considering MMBN. Bugstyle

>>715766579I didn't make an only-Junksoul folder but one time I made a galaxy brain play with the recycle feature to pull a program advance out of my ass.
It looks pretty good too.
>>715767198Damn that's awesome.
>health doesn't restore automatically after battle
I kinda liked that about the first game.
The music here in the net is cool though. I like the pitch bend sound.
>>715767492Not having your health restore after battle put more emphasis on survival, now you have to play good or make use of your recovery chips and subchips. Also there are some other changes to the combat, like new panel types.
>>715767612>Not having your health restore after battle put more emphasis on survivalYeah. I see how that can be cool and interesting. I just have PTSD from playing Final Fantasy 1. The dungeons in that game were hellish due to having to conserve resources.
>>715766908only in star force 2 can you skip the tutorial but kids complained about not understanding the game so they made it unskippable again in 3
>>715768047>skip tutorial for a game you're not familiar with>don't understand the game>surprisedpikachu.jpgWhy are kids so fucking retarded?

>>715752359Basically Bandai's answer to the Game Boy with the power of around a GBA. It had three revisions
>Wonder SwanThink of this like the Game Boy Pocket. It's black and white.
>Wonder Swan ColorThink of this like the Game Boy Color. It plays all WS games and had games exclusive to it in color.
>SwancrystalThink of this like the SP. It's the WSC but it has a backlight (Frontlight?) and was the definitive version at the time for the screen. This didn't have any exclusive games to it, it's basically a WSC revision. Nowadays it's mostly irrelevant with all the screen mods for the WSC since it's way more plentiful.
The form factor was identical between all revisions, it was primarily the screen and its functions. It was only ever sold in Japan but got a hefty amount of games including a lot of really niche stuff like two Uzumaki games of all things. Tons of exclusive Digimon games were released on it that focus on our lord and savior Ryo Akiyama and explains him saving Ken in Adventure 02 and then what he was doing in Tamers. It's also where a lot of Final Fantasy games released.
Realistically it was a better GBA, but because they never released it in the west it's mostly an obscure thing even though it had way more staying power than even the Neo Geo Pocket or various Atari systems.
>>715768230It also had 1/5 of all the Klonoa games (worth playing)
What's your busting level?
>>715768693https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tdyU_gW6WE
>>715768693How well you do in battle. Doing double/triple deletes increases your level, taking hits that flinch you and moving more than 3 steps decreases your level.
The better your busting level, the better chances to get chips you'll have.
>>715768880I meant what's YOUR busting level personally
The encounter rate feels lower in 2 so far. Thank god, it was getting really annoying in 1. I guess the consensus is that 1 isn't considered very good. I enjoyed it, but I'm glad it was relatively short. I don't think I could have tolerated much more of that encounter rate.
>>715768693S why what's yours?
>>715768693Uh.. X.
That's good right?
Bros... Mayl gave me her code
>>715769602You're basically married now.
>>715768047>sf2 does one thing right>capcom says fuck that shiti am going insane
How is the X legacy collection on the switch?
>>715769714They removed the soulful Guns 'n' Roses maverick names from X5. Fuck that.
>>715769714Not great, the Switch version is the one with the most input lag.
The only ones worth grabbing for Switch are BN and Zero collections, for the others I'd suggest you to emulate.
>>715769809FUCK THAT SHIT
>>715769843I personally dont have a problem with the both of the classic collections
I just wanted the X games too
Yai pulled a Whitney Houston
>>715770013I mean, on a surface level they are fine but if you don't mind the issues that port could have and really need them on a portable device, go ahead and get them on Switch anyway.
>>715770136Does the classic legacy collections also have issues?
Only thing I noticed was very minor graphical issues on the boss select screen for some of the games
Otherwise the controls and felt fine
It looks like I'll be able to have multiple folders. That's really nice. Hated having to keep swapping chips in and out for different circumstances in the first game.
>>715770426Yea, that is HUGE in deck builder games
>>715770426>BN2You only need 1 deck for that game
>>715770241NES games don't have any major issues but 7 and 8 to an extent have some lag so it's mostly SNES and PS1 games that have that. And since X mostly come from those they have the most issues. They aren't unplayable or anything like that but it's not the most optimal way to play them imo.
Oddly enough X7 and X8 run pretty much perfect so X Legacy Collection 2 has better value than 1.
>>715770593Fuck that. Let the man experiment with the new chips and terrains.
>>715770602>X Legacy Collection 2 has better value than 1.Not if you judge it on the quality of the games themselves...
>>715770678Literal gatekeeping
>>715770716It's quite ironic that those games are the ones that run better.
>>715770602I was planning on doing the Rockman X versions cause I want them physical
Seems like you need the download code for the NTSC versions which is gay
>>715772562>he thinks that even registers on the insanity that is BN2wait till you find a shota hunting milf that gets off to lan beating her and the negro rapping
>>715773191Now you're just making me excited
>>715773323yai was a sick fuck. this is why you never battle glyde. he was too busy tardwrangling his operator
>>715773191Don't forget Lan travelling to another country by himself and then immediately getting mugged the moment he steps out of the plane.
BN2's plot is so absurd for a kids game. I love it.
>>715773323BN2 had the best looking net. I love the floating trees and accents they add throughout the internet. I hate that they removed them in BN3 and onward.
FUCK HER RIGHT IN THE PUSSY
>Lan Hikari goes on to become the President of Electopia.
mother of christ i remember playing this on the gameboy advance and being too retarded to beat it. i cant' remember where i got stuck but I just dropped it one day.
fuck this is making me feel like a dinosaur, 2000's still feels like yesterday.
When does Higsby's shop open in BN2?
