There are no contradictions in the Bible. Everything is tied together since it's the Truth, as given by God. Try giving it a more in depth look and actually trying to understand what the words mean rather than just glazing over it so you can construct your own personal ideas in your head to try and "own" others with.

It doesn't refer to physical hiding, it refer to that shameful state of being someone has when they know they committed some kind of bad deed they shouldn't have so now they try and avoid the person they did the bad thing to because they're scared to admit to the thing they did

Yet another thing you made up in your head specifically to use for situation like these to try and "prove" against it. There is no suggestion whatsoever in that story that God Himself was the one being defeated since He wasn't the one partaking in the fight, it was the Israelites, which are supposed to be His people, it was people against iron chariots that lost, not God. And the reason the people lost was because they relied on their own strength instead of God's to win the fight and lacked the faith to see them through it. God allowed them to lose in order to come to the realization they still need him, regardless of the situation, and that if they are to rely on themselves alone and become too prideful, they will be too blind to fight and promptly be crushed by the enemy. If they would of been with God as supposed to, He would of crushed their enemies immediately, just as He did with Pharaoh and his men when they went after Moses, but these time, they weren't with Him, so he allowed the enemy to defeat them. That is the whole point, to teach they need reliance on God, regardless of how hard or easy the situation may seem.
