With so many games around nowadays how do you even decide what to play? Do you play AAA classics or do you focus on indies? Do you base your opinion on journalist reviews, or forum posts, or 4chan opinions?

If a game looks interesting at first glance and survives the initial scrutnity (no historically-DEI devs (ex: Obsidian) or designs, I look up Negative Steam reviews and sort out by Most Helpful. Then I look up on /v/ to see how much of the discussion is about cooming or gameplay. Then I look up a gameplay to see if it won't make me fall asleep. Then I make a decision.
Boy, it sure is hard to be an informed consumer these days, am I right?

I go to social media like 4chan and ask people how I'm supposed to decide something as basic as what games to play because I'm a fucking retard incapable of thinking for himself.

Now and then I come here to get a new take on a game, then I remember /v/ hasn't known shit about shit since 2008

since steam instituted the whole under 2 hours = refund i just go as balls deep as possible and try it, if its good i keep

Text file based backlog combined with mental easiness in dropping games if they don't grab my attention. I do the same thing for anime, but I've seen so much that 1ep rule is enough for me instead of usual 3ep.

I've been playing nothing but modded skyrim and modded minecraft for almost a decade at this point. Literally maybe once every two years or so I'll get into a different game for like a month, but then I go back to minecraft and skyrim.
