I think people forget both Young Ocelot and Old Ocelot were designed by Yoji Shinkawa, who is also the art director of all mainline MGS games. He is extremely competent and respected. He designed Old Ocelot first. Then he thought "How would this guy look younger?" and decided Young Ocelot. He was not oblivious to the differences between their designs, these differences were intentional, and Konami disrespected his design.

Anyways, Steam is the best. It's not even close. I used to use Playnite until last year, but Steam just got that much better.

And Steam becomes exponentially better once your ecosystem gets more complex. Sometimes I use mouse/keyboard, sometimes I use a controller, and sometimes I use a VR. Steam has a HUB for all of these. It's just brilliant.

Couple of factors. First one is shame-centered culture instead of guilt-centered aka outside influenced morality rather than inside. If a person is taught that paying for his ticket in public transport is right thing to do (because you pay for service you use and so on), his inner morality will ensure that he will do so even in absence of outside control. If instead teach him that he have to buy ticket or inspector will issue a fee, it's outside control and as soon as possibility of inspection fade away, he won't pay anymore. More than that, he might attempt to gamble (because it's impossible to place completely fool-proof system) or even break rules to show how wealthy/powerful he feels he is and being able to pay fees without a sweat. Likewise, if your inner morality says that cheating is bad, you won't do so no matter if you are being checked for that or not, in absence of this inner control, it's either gamble, power show or simply waiting for a moment.

Other is how in both cases their culture only value "success" without any regard to how it was achieved. Chinese children are being taught that only perfect result matters and any flaw will be pointed out, anything "good" rejected for not being "the best" (which is wrong at its core - life is about growth, the process itself while perfection means the end of growth, a finality - and finality is death). They are rewarded for cheating if they avoid being caught and punished if they do not - but since only result matter, they would rather gamble. I don't feel bad for pirating, but I rarely finish the games I pirate unless they are REALLY good. On the other hand for the games I buy it's the opposite and I'll finish them unless they are REALLY bad. Unless they were dirt cheap.

Maybe stop quitting as soon as you lose one match and instead invest time in learning the game. You will get trashed in any competitive game if you don't put some effort into it.

Also, look up guides, watch pros play. It is amazing how in 20 hours of active effort you can become better at the game than some people spamming matches for 500+ hours. It took me like 5 hours in CS2 to learn the recoil pattern of the AK/M4A1 and the basics of counter strafing, I instantly went from silver to gold and passed by several people with 1000+ hours on the game at silver.
