because it looks like unoriginal slop. That in, does not make a game good, quite the opposite. There's a reason everyone feels weirdly nostalgic and dreamy about older games, cause they all looked different, had different engines, sound engines, textures, physics, lightning engines etc. ALL modern games LITERALLY look the same, they all have the same fundations, textures, feel to them etc. Every model and face was made by hand back in the day too

3D models were much cheaper to make back then. I agree that most games look kind of the same because of UE5 but if we can have more risky games that can compete with AAA slop thanks to this, then it's a decent trade-off.
Also in E33, they mostly used free assets for world map rocks, trees and grass so it's not as jarring as something like Wukong where 90% of the environments were from the marketplace.
