If you are mad about prices going up over time, you don't want to talk to Nintendo you want to talk to congress and the federal reserve. It's a deliberate design for prices to go up forever to encourage consumerism and discourage saving. They want you to consume as much as possible so that you have to work more to pay for it. By having more people working more hours they get cheaper labor. Nintendo is not going to gradually decrease their prices forever becaus they don't want to raise prices to match inflation.

The only time Mario has focused on story was in the Mario rpgs, and even then it's still light compared to other rpgs, vns, or narrative focused games. Mario Wonder invented an entirely new kingdom that supposedly has always been there when we've seen the entire planet in Odyssey and nothing on the globe matches the layout of the Flower Kingdom.
