I almost none of you here ever traveled to Taiwan, Korea or Japan. Let alone China but this is a normal popular thing to do in big Asian cities.
Every big city has one.
Seoul has it's nearby city Incheon thats literally covered in Artifical islands.
Taiwan has Kaohsiung and Xianxi.
Hong Kong has Kowloon Bay but the entire place is basically an Artifical Island at this point. Across from that is Macau same situation. And between then you have Gangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen Jingamen and all of these are building artifical islands in the Thuinang River Estuary.
This part is basically Chinese Tokyo. It also has the worlds longest bridge from MAcau to Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
A more extreme version of all of this is Singaroupe thats even more built out than Hong Kong.
They have Jurong Island, the entire East side of the city is an artifical Island and the entire west part is also one being an Airport.
And then finally you have the country that started all this shit in it's Bubble Era Japan.
The entire East side of Tokyo bay is an artifical Island.
The entire Nagoya is an artifical Island
The Entire Kobe to Osaka part is also Artifical Islands.
The Entire Kitaksuyshu Northen Part
The Entire Fukuoka Northen Part.
South Nagasaki.
Omura bay has the Nagasaki Airport.
Entire Souther Kagoshima.
Entire cities have their entire industries in he bays on Artifical Islands.
Fukuyama, Okamaya's Kurashiki, Kure, Hiroshima, Hofu, Ube,
