I've been to China, it is actually pretty fucking cool. I definitely don't wanna live there because the CCP will probably murder you for posting a meme, but visiting? It is excellent. Everything is cheap, everyone is pretty nice and respectful, most people speak English (even in the more authentic parts of the cities) and it can basically be described as "Japan, but cheaper."
China gets a bad reputation. Again, not a fan of the CCP, don't wanna move there, but I will happily visit again. I'm American and experienced 0 problems with locals, authorities, officials, or anything. Everyone was cool. The cities feel so futuristic compared to the shitholes we have in America. You can do that, it is nice. I spent a few days in Western China and it was cool, though I'll admit I preferred the cities just because they are shoehorning as many robots and automated services into them as possible which is very novel. There are also nightly light shows everywhere for some reason, I don't even know who is paying for that shit.
Ironically, the dirtiest spot I went to was Hong Kong, which you think would be like a Cyberpunk city or something, but it felt more run down than Shanghai.

I've been blessed/fortunate enough to travel to a lot of different countries and China is probably in my top 3, though it is a bit unfair because the price is such a strong factor. Feels like you can do anything. I remember my hotel was absolutely fucking killer and was like $95 a night or something like that, and that included food/alcohol whenever you wanted at no additional charge (though I think there was a limit on the alcohol, I just didn't drink much).
My #1 is Japan though, you probably know why. It is like #1 Japan, #2 Italy, #3 China

Minus Rome (and parts of Venice, I guess) it is just a very beautiful country full of rolling hills and fields. Delicious food, great culture, history, and atmosphere. The people are kind and welcoming. I have mixed feelings about going to the major historical cities because they have been seriously hampered by immigration and tourism, but they are also the spots of most of the history of the country. There are some incredible museums and exhibits. You can visit, but try to spend more of your time in the country in smaller towns and minor cities. The prices are also fair, it didn't feel as expensive as the UK, for instance.
Also a lot of Italians speak English and feel a lot more apt to use it. I went to France and people who clearly spoke English would refuse to speak it out of some weird pride. France was one of the lesser experiences I had. Not bad overall, but I wouldn't go back. I'd go back to Italy tomorrow if I could.

Greece is a place you go if you're really into history since the entire country is made up of so many different cultures. You can see ancient Greek influences (obviously), Roman, Ottoman, etc. It is a very interesting place, but it is clearly run down. It is a poorer country and it shows. While it is very cheap, you can pretty much visit all of the major historical locations once and then never go back as long as you take some pictures. Also, it is another unfortunate situation where all of the important places are filled with tourists and immigrants that make it dirty, but they're also the spots worth visiting the most. Just traveling around was not as a pleasurable experience as Italy.
Also, yeah, the language barrier is real. I recommend having a phone capable of a real time translation app or a smart watch capable of the same. I am sure with AI that shit is probably incredible now.
