On Urqopacha: they seem to have fucked with the mountain textures at some point and now they look... off... as if they have a lower res texture, or their tiling is in the negatives so it's a small-ish texture wrapped over a gigantic mountain.

I am! It's not gonna be the hypest of the hype patches re: content. I was hoping maybe we'd get a variant thrown in the mix, but I'm nonetheless looking forward to it. MSQ is gonna be a main attraction here, and I hope they handle it well. I'm interested in the Alliance Raid. The beast tribe.. is eh.. okay. I was somewhat interested in the Yok Huy so I hope they do well with them. Deep Dungeon seems cool enough. I hope it's more like HoH and PoTD and less like EO, and given that YoshiP said that he was "a little afraid that it might be too easy for hardcores", I have some hope there. Not a fan of pixie aesthetic so I expect the rewards to do nothing for me.
Oh, PvP, I hope the set we get is good. I wasn't a fan of 7.1's set, so crossing my fingers 7.3's is better to me.
Otherwise, I appreciate the QoL changes. Chat bubbles, viera hats, the probable furnishing limit increase. I hope we get a few more old zone and gear graphical updates. Drachen armor update in 7.2 was neat and I've gone back to using a few pieces in my DRG glam.

I think one of the main jarring factors remaining in zones is the way mountains look. DT introduces some good stuff, and the 7.1 updates to the ARR zones makes mountains and cliffsides and the like way less ugly, so I hope the same happens for some other parts of the game. Looking at you, Lakeland. With your crumpled paper mountains.

Not really. XIV is doing the opposite of 2020 era WoW. Dawntrail is what happens when you finally tell the big climax of your story, and recognize that you need to take a step back. The whole beach episode idea. It's intentional. Shadowlands is what happens when you keep trying to hype and grow your story more and more.

XIV did it right, people are just assmad because Ishikawa wanted a promotion after ten years in the author mines and the new writer isn't quite as good.

On the plus side, at least majority of what I used MMOMinion for is covered, mainly the crafting automation.

Some of it is just the design not translating well to a 3D model. I think It needs smaller wings, a smaller chin strap so a character's mouth can actually be seen, and a less sharp downwards tilt on the visor or dragon's snout while still obscuring the eyes. People usually do it to 90, regardless the other crafting / gathering systems in place is what bridges the 90-100 portions, traditional levees, the role quest stuff, grinding if you're a madman, meme beast tribes, the ShB/EW/DT role quests.

The problem was omnicrafting past the dead zones, which was 15-70 in ShB since people wouldn't gather mats for the MB to sell, it's why they added the merchants that sell completed bits and bobs for HW and SB crafts / job quest crafts along with Ishgard Restoration introduction as a catch all for literally every craft / gathering 15-80 under 1 roof with universal crafting materials.
Same reason why Ocean Fishing was put in, it's a fancy way of leveling your fishing with some potential rewards and to make it less monotonous in the lower levels so you can get it into the "useful" higher levels.

The point of the content was to help people level with some small extras on the side, Cosmic Exploration is what happens when the point isn't really leveling up your craft / gathering but to do it as an "endgame" activity, hence why it immediately emptied out.
There is unironically more people doing Diadem stuff right now than CE by a decent margin and it's rather silly.

MNK just feels like it suffers from a similar thing as the WHM set. The metal is nice, but the cloth parts? It feels flat. And also like it didn't get updated at all. It still feels low rez.
The metal seems to be carrying hard for most of these updates and the gear that has the least of it seems to suffer most, lol.

I’m surprised they never split SCH from Arcanist. I think it was Stormblood that first revamped the Class screen on your profile, so when you unlock a job it replaces the class icon. And Scholar is separate there. And the only ability it shares now is Ressurection.
Honestly wish summoner and Arcanist had a different weapon like a rod staff thing. But alas, ARR decisions haunt us to this day.
