A lot of modern Nintendo releases are like this. It's a weird phenomenon. Their games used to get a decent amount of discussion here and elsewhere. They sell loads but no discussion. It was the same for Wonder and Echoes of Wisdom

The switch 2 install base is too small to have serious sales figures.
It's just not that good of a game and is plainly a mario game with donkey kong swapped in, changing coins to bananas.

You joke but this is how it was ten or so years ago, many YouTubers refused to play Nintendo stuff because of it. Now it's more if you play Nintendo stuff you get locked into a separate algorithm

Kinda crazy now that I think about it, my youtube algorightim is tons of gaming stuff, but there is absolutely zero shit from nintendo reccomended to me. Despite shit like Sonic and Crash showing up sometimes.
