It's funny how you insist on calling Pre-redesign DK "Rare DK" as if it hasn't been his only design for the past 30 years.
NuDK is literally the same design with a few tweaks to his face to allow more expressiveness. The real problem is the changes to his personality that made him way too goofy and childish. No dignity left in that ape.
