it's the best horror game of all time honestly. It does so well in actually making you feel vulnerable and terrified.

Also, the setting is just perfect and the way they made all the assets fit within the original Alien movie is so fucking good, such a great atmosphere. That part where you go through the reactor into the hive was edge of my seat shit, I was so fucking terrified the first time I played the game going through there and the facehuggers scurrying around always got me.

My only real criticism of the game is the NPC AI for humans is pretty damn garbage. The Alien and the working joes was good though.

I bought it for my Steam deck almost 2 years ago, haven't played it yet because I don't want to end up throwing my steam deck across the room

I hope they have a better stealth system, sneaking around and just hiding is very simple, I hope there's more ways to hide, more ways to sneak, more distractions you can do. I love Isolation but the main thing about it was the Alien was always hounding you so much and it was hard to keep it endlessly distracted so I could just explore around a bit more.

One thing I loved is going back to previous areas after escaping from Marlows ship. Random NPCs, Joes etc were still spawning randomly, it was fun hiding and seeing humans try to fight the Joes and always alerting the Alien to their location.

First time I used the VR version I sat for a solid minute in medical in a locker just listening and watching the xeno stomping around. I also discovered that if you fuck around too long when waiting for the tram during the intro, the xeno will actually drop into the area from the vents

Overstays it's welcome and the alien got used to the flamethrower after 3 bursts which just made it tedious to get through some areas. After a certain point they stop being scaring and are just annoyances preventing you from finishing a game that should have been done 4 hours from the actual finish.
Also the AI is trash, leashed to you and scripted depending on where you go/enter.

No, it's unironically the best way to play, there's no need to hide from the scripted alien who teleports, just walk behind it and it will eventually patrol the area where you need to pass, at which point you can sprint because he's scripted to come out of a vent no matter what.
