Why can't we have a single good Naruto video game?
Every Storm game has been ruined by Minato mains spamming Rasengan, and they don't have a very active playerbase on PC either so they're the only thing you can find online.

I never liked the Storm games. You can't strategize or use the environment like in the Ultimate Ninja games, and you just fly around like a monkey throwing powers.

Thematically the major story was done; Naruto defeated Pain, avenging his teacher and ending the Akatsuki while Sasuke defeats Itachi and avenges his clan. Both major characters toppled the biggest driving force for both their stories. The first day of the war was terrible. It felt like a parade of old characters Kishimoto created but couldn't find a way to use in the story so instead we get a bunch of highlight chapters for them when they were irrelevant to the story. And we got that over a proper war.

I'm going through the Storm games for the first time (just fought Sasuke for the first time in 3FB), why does everyone love 2 so much? Is it just nostalgia?
1 was rough around the edges, but it genuinely had a lot of, dare I say it, sovl compared to 2. The second game basically removed a lot of fun stuff seemingly for the sake of online, and the gameplay isn't even that much of an improvement. Also the story mode was a fucking bore with all the running around and slow animations, no to mention no fast travel until the post-game.
So far, 3 feels so much more polished and fun to play, the substitution bar addition is great, and the story moves along in a much nicer way (it just teleports you to places instead of making you walk back and forth endlessly).

Madara's feelings were also based off of when he was alive and the world was constantly in a warring states period where terrible shit was happening every day and a lot of people were genuinely suffering.
In the main timeline of the series, there's still conflict going on but it was nowhere near as bad as it was back during Madara's time, and they had actively done away with a lot of the more gruesome aspect of being a shinobi, like the old graduation exam for the Mist Village. Most people were living in relative peace though.

At the end of the day the Narutoverse has a ton of unexplored potential, and somehow only the fucking Ubisoft games bothered making Konoha an explorable place that's worth exploring versus even the Ninja Storm games abandoning the idea and focusing entirely on cinematic fighter shit. Actually making a ninja into other nations and having to fill in plot details would be way too ambitious, but a Konoha Shinobi/Kunoichi playing a side assist in the active plot while seeing more character stuff on the sides from more than Team 7, not even having to actively follow Team 7's missions at that as you can make shift from wholecloth, would be great.

The majority of the shinobi forces are adults and you're explicitly not allowed to take on more dangerous missions until you have enough experiences under your belt and pass an exam to be promoted to a higher rank. There's stuff like the Bridge mission were it was explicitly stated that if they had known the true danger of the mission they wouldn't have sent in a team fresh out of the academy.
