TF is a different kind of game. It's a 2D platformer built entirely around platforming challenges. DKB is an 3D action platformer about exploration and interactions with your environment. You can say TF is better because it's harder, but that's not the point of 3D platformers and never have been. The moment to moment gameplay in DKB is much more fun so far, and there's more expression and player agency on offer and the kinds of things you can do, just compare the movements between them.

I love how the developers add Bananza this super form that can be upgraded, used for traversing/destroying the level and just adding a powerup feature for Donkey Kong in general and then people complain about using it to beat bosses when there are options to beat it without it and then say BUT ITS NOT REWARDING, what the fuck do you want an achievement and +10 gamerscore for doing it without it? The only Classic DK that's better than DKC is '94, the original arcade games aren't great. I can't comment on Bananza directly as I haven't played it, but if it really hews as close to Odyssey as it seems, then I can't imagine it outdoing DKC1, DKC2, or either of Retro's entries. Did you not pay attention to botw and totk? People RAGED at koroks because the reward for 100% it was a joke, despite the fact that koroks actively increase your inventory space, meaning they are your own reward, and its also made clear that there is a limit to them. Nintendo then took this and decided that in totk they would add cheevs for kills through the monster squad, except that once again nobody cared because "why does my monster killing medal not do anything?"

There are a couple late game fights that are challenging enough to make you use your brain but once you get how to fight them they still go down pretty easy. The final boss is the only campaign boss that feels genuinely tough, it's definitely harder than any of the bosses in Odyssey and Galaxy. And then there's a postgame boss rush mode where all the bosses are harder. So there are definitely a handful of difficult fights in the game.

Feels like they were asleep at the wheel when designing zebra, honestly. Every other form has practical applications outside of challenges but zebra gives you nothing outside of higher ground speed.
