Did you not pay attention to botw and totk? People RAGED at koroks because the reward for 100% it was a joke, despite the fact that koroks actively increase your inventory space, meaning they are your own reward, and its also made clear that there is a limit to them. Nintendo then took this and decided that in totk they would add cheevs for kills through the monster squad, except that once again nobody cared because "why does my monster killing medal not do anything?"
Zoomers NEED constant validation, they are a race of women, and if they arent getting dopamine-hacked constantly, they cant enjoy anything.

Nobody fucking said witcher 3 was 0/10 ubislop because it was open world and had item degradation (and fucking weight limits), and they only said that because it wasnt a nintendo game.

Basically, the hate for weapons breaking is because "I played ocarina as a child and that means everything that is different from ocarina is literal trash", since weapon breaking applies to even the master sword, they see it as an "insult" to the fucking fictional sword.
