"Immersion" is a misnomer at best and a byproduct of a retarded mind at worst
I do not believe for a single yoctosecond that you can reach a state in which you forget that the video game you are playing is in fact a video game and not real life unless you suffer from severe mental retardation.

Immersion in this context just means that the game world is coherent and believable
are you a jiheishou jin or do you have dysphasia? i can't think of anything that could cause someone to be unable to get what people mean by immersion in video games.

>believable
you mean to tell me that you believe there can exist a world full of fantastic bullshit you see in a video game? that's somehow even worse.

op is underage and has never played a video game good enough to be immersive

I can get that immersed. And it's not just vidya. Happens with books too. Ever hear about a book disappearing when you're reading it? It's the same kind of thing. Your mind is just so absorbed in the story that you don't really feel like you're sitting there reading a book. You're just absorbed with absorbing information.
Hell, I'll get immersed playing board games too. I 2-hand Spirit Island all the time. It's not so much moving pieces around the boards and flipping cards. It's a little story that is unfolding on the island. I think that's why I love it so much. I get so completely and utterly immersed in it that even when I'm sitting there deciding which cards to play it doesn't drag me out far enough that my brain registers it as a board game. I'm just in the moment, taking action and seeing how things pan out. I've always been able to immerse myself like that in things super easily.

Tiddies unrelated. I just like them.

the interactions are believable and intuitive is what people mean.
when you drop an object in your bethesda 3D rpg sloppa it falls, it doesn't glitch out or fall upward toward the sky. when you cast a fireball it deals damage.
of course nobody expects to be able to yell fus roh dah irl and get any result other than embarassment.

I thought immersion was a meme too, until I played Half-Life

Immersion isn't believing that it's real, it's wanting it to be real

Shit take, just look at how violently zelda fanboys reacted to ss, botw, and totk, they rage endlessly, when you ask what the problem is, they literally tell you things that ocarina of time did while they worship it, the real difference is that because link started to be made into a character in those games, they cannot "experience take" anymore.
I repeat:
ootniggers literally suffer from a mental illness where they believe they are the character.

So if it happens to them, why not other games?

I get immersed in every activity I do, not just video games. When I start focusing on a task, the world around me ceases to exist. There is only the task, and me doing the task. It's like a deep state of meditation, all my irrelevant thoughts vanish, and I the only thing I feel is the center of my existence cutting through space.

Immersion is a type of flow state.

A little flowery, but pretty much this. It's just razor sharp focus on what is in front of you and discarding everything else.

Yes, I can. I can even answer impossible questions like "how would you feel if you hadn't made a food analogy this morning", even though I made one.

Shame.
Well, I'm 5 too. All I see is hazy white swirls when I close my eyes. I can still get immersed in vidya.
