The beginning of RE0 is probably my favorite in the series.
The idea with the train is really cool and also incredibly comfy. I wish the entire game was like that, I remember thinking that it was. Unfortunately, once that portion ends, the game palpably goes downhill. Not like it gets terrible or anything, just very generic and by the numbers, same old mansion and a rehashed RE2 lab. The exact opposite of the beginning, like they ran out of ideas. No wonder they had to reboot the series immediately after.

Yeah, really don't understand why people dislike this game so much. It's more of the same that was in RE1. But I loved RE1, so this is good to me.
I never cared about the story or the characters. They just exist to have 'something' going on. What matters more to me is the feeling, the ambiance, like - "there is a spoke mansion where a science experiment went wrong and you have to survive it and escape". Cool, that's literally all I need.

Outside of the train, which was genuinely fantastic, RE0's level just weren't that interesting to explore. Also it has one of the worst enemy casts in the series, almost as bad as RE7. Also the story was terrible, but this is RE we're talking about so lol.
