Nah. Releasing, failing and dying is infinitely more hilarious and satisfying than cancelling a game.
While both lose money the cancelled game loses less money than committing to the end and releasing; in fact you can use the cancelled game to get a tax exception and recover some money that way.

Also, cancelled games eventually get idealized as legendary and people start claiming they were good games that got unfairly axed due to suits being greedy, while with the released game no one can pretend it wasn't shit.

It'll probably do okay by virtue of being the only real F2P fighting game, it's only really competing with the GBVR trial version which has even fewer characters and no marketing. Okay definitely won't be good enough for Riot though, especially not after 10 years of development, so I expect it to get a massive push everywhere for like a year in an attempt to make the money back and then it'll quietly get EoS'ed for not hitting some completely unrealistic expectation like 500k concurrents.

Z/L-cancelling isn't a glitch. Sakurai literally discussed it in an official website (smash bros dojo!) that was up after Smash 6.
Wavedashing and wavelanding aren't glitches either for similar reasons.
Obviously, these were likely not completely planned either, but the fact that Sakurai has clearly identified many different movement techs in each smash game (even the bad ones) but kept some while removing others makes it clear that these quirks aren't glitches. They are intentional parts of the system.
