Do you ever brake in racing video games? Tapping brake to enter drift doesn't count.

when you put new brakes on a car, you have to pump the pedal to build pressure in the brake lines so that they work, otherwise the pedal is mushy and does nothing. forgetting this is a great source of accidents in car repair shops

Otherwise the would have gone through the windscreen.

Story is, guy build up a muscle car but cheaps out on the brakes. Youtuber goes for a test drive, brakes fail, nowhere to go but into the rear end of the cars stopped at the traffic light in front of them.

Both live, car totalled though, something like 200k and a decade of work down the drain because he didn't spend extra money on decent brake discs.

I drop gears because most games don’t account for using the option and it’ll automatically slow you down to a pre-determined speed (even if you alter transmissions and gear ratios), without any finicking you’d need to do because of braking.
It’s pretty funny to dominate online lobbies because of doing this.

Completely untrue on anything except the weakest engines. You proof brakes exactly by overpowering them. A muffler disspates about 2HP of power, driving a gear down dissipates about 5HP, regular braking might dissipate around 100HP and performance brakes can go much higher. But even a shitbox 2L can overpower its own brakes.

Even with stories like those, people will still say ai driving is worse and focus on a few accidents instead of the statistics that say otherwise

Does it not put an excess strain on the engine?

The engine has pressurized air passing through it regardless. It's basically just running the engine in reverse (not directionally but in terms of where power is supplied from, the wheels in this case).

But of course I mean proper engine braking. If you're going 100km/h and downshift to second gear yes you are absolutely going to fuck up your car.

>Piss away your children's inheritance on a "muscle car"
>Only install lap belts because shoulder straps are for pussys
>Don't install a hand break because that makes the center console look SUPER LAME
>Call up a "muscle car" youtube channel to get on a video and show off your bad ass car that isn't finished
>Joy riding with fellow boomer
>Youtube boomer says he is smelling the breaks burning
>Tell him that it is because the the engine isn't finished the throttle gets stuck wide open when he accelerates, so he has to ride the breaks the whole ride
>It should be fine
>Need to stop at a red light
>The breaks fail
>Need to find a way to stop the car
>Can't use the hand break that doesn't exist
>Don't want to do any of the options that could save lives because they would be bad for the car
>Best option left is the rearend the minivan filled with children

It was a car full of illegals that fled the scene. The driver deserved to get assraped legally on general principle, but this is what happens when we have millions of people driving around that are outside the system. If they hit you or you hit them the law just shrugs most of the time.

Crazy he spend all that money to get a ''good'' engine just to drive it auto, couldn't be me lol. Also most automatic have buttons to toggle the gear he should have done that instead.
