I've also tweaked the maps for the back alleyway maps both past and present. Does anyone experience lag when they get to this map? For me the FPS drops down to 5 (note the drop in the upper left part of the webm) which makes that map really annoying to play because I have trouble positioning the player character to get into doorways and passageways. Well after my modifications the FPS drop is much less of an issue. I don't know if anyone had this problem but I hope it helps!

It turns out the issue is caused by the event tiles Miro used to create the shadow effect. Each tile of shadow is its individual event and having so many events on the map at the same time caused the lag. To fixed this, I simply created larger shadow sprites and used them to substitute areas of the map with a large amount of shadow. I was about to get rid of about 160 events that way which reduced the lag by a lot.

You know how some monsters still continue attacking even after you cut off their heads or destroy their torsos so you get stuff like a guard hacking off your arm and dying right afterward? After some research I found out that was an intentional mechanic so I added a little notification of when that happens so people know it's not a bug.
