Look at some videos, I don't know how fun it would be to actually play with all the limitations. I had fun reading the Alumni page in JA2 about the JA1 mercs though. One of the cutest, most waifu tier mercs got shot dead near her apartment by a mercenary groupie/stalker, while carrying groceries, I remember being bummed out about it but it would have hit harder if I had played the first game (JA2 was already ancient in 2003 when I first played it, I was playing Max Payne 2 and BF2 in the next couple years, shit was really wild).

So apparently battlegrounds are not crossfaction on Epoch because it was more important to make 1600 useless quests than work on a core mechanic of the game.
How was faction balance during the beta? I'd guess Alliance was favored since they have "better" aesthetic and you can get any racial?
