Not since the october revolution. Russia paid colossal price to purge it's imperialists, then an even bigger one to defeat fascism and continuously fight against colonialism, banana republics, apartheid and all the shit the west stands for

There are many things wrong with this statement
It's very convenient for a small country to want to join the powerful western empire, this means that they themselves won't be targeted by the west through either direct aggression or their huge arsenal of destabilization tactics, and also means that they will potentially share in the west's imperialist looting of the global south through shit like EU aids. It's very convenient for these countries to claim that they are just doing this because russia is so evil they want protection from them, so parties pushing these narratives will obviously get popular, and ofc the shitloads of western funding of these groups also doesn't help.
Baltics are the greatest examples, bunch of nazi collaborators that literally wouldn't even exist if russia let them join the germans, who otherwise wanted to colonize and ethnically cleanse them too after they were done with their little divide and rule tactics, yet these countries still demonize russia because how else could they morally justify being part of the westurd cartel. Ofc they are the loudest screechers of how evil russia totally wants to conquer and enslave ukriane amd then the rest of europe too.
And ofc there is the thing that the west has a colossal track record of imperialist aggressions, much bigger than russia has even with the craziest accusations. They can't just fucking start deploying rockets at it's doorsteps long before Russia did anything to justify that, especially when they agreed that this is a red line they won't cross
