I'm planning on building a new PC soon.. I'm planning on getting AMD CPU and GPU and using linux, but I have a g-sync monitor with my current Intel/Nvidia setup. I don't really understand the cross-compatibility between g-sync and freesync, isn't it like one type of GPU can use both VRR types but the other GPU type can only use one? Can I keep using variable refresh rate on this g-sync monitor with an AMD gpu?
It's a slightly older Dell display (s2716dg) for what it's worth.

Google AI says you can use Gsync with AMD. But buying Gsync was a huge meme since barely any monitor had that and Nvidia eventually started supporting freesync. Also on Linux if you use AMD card you need to use Displayport instead of HDMI.

What shitty attempt at shilling linux is this? CS2 runs like ass in linux, it has many known issues that valve has ignored since it's launch. The worst of all of then is that randomly during a match your FPS will drop from 200 to 30 and it will stay like that for a few rounds then fix itself after a round is over. Just make a quick search and you'll realize how many problems there are with performance. The game is fucking unplayable.
