if you're planning on playing recent-ish games then the obvious answer is 4K. With DLSS or FSR4 you can literally get both better image quality and better performance than anything on 1440p can give you.

Imagine not having at least two monitors.
If it's a sweaty twitchfest game, I use the 144hz.
If I don't care/fidelity matters more (i.e. spotting targets at long range in Hell Let Loose) I use the 60Hz.
Other times I have media up on one and comms on the other. Going back to a single monitor feels incredibly cramped and annoying.

Even though 4K is a waste of rendering, you can still take full advantage of it with older games. Donโ€™t get a 1440p display just to save some money. If you have an expensive rig, why would you retard it with a shitty little 1440p IPS panel

Since a typical desktop setup means sitting about 2ft away from the monitor as opposed to sitting further away on a couch, doesn't this graph indicate that 4k is fully noticeable or very close to it for just about every typical gaming PC setup? An average sized monitor is at least between 25-30 inches. At 2ft, 4k on a screen that size should be fully noticeable.

>>716267021
>I tried it and it looks like ass I'm content with 1440p and 100+ fps
What you are playing with looks worse and runs worse.

I understand that you are innately opposed to the idea of DLSS or upscaling so you refuse to even consider the notion of output resolution being far more relevant than input resolution. But DLSS Performance mode at 4k (so 1080p to 4K with DLSS) both L O O K S and R U N S better than native 1440p, be it with DLAA or TAA or no AA. Even FSR4 achieves the same effect.
This has been verified by countless people with 4k screens, tech outlets, random fags online, and anyone who knows how this stuff works. There are countless webms and png comparisons in the archive and on youtube or techpowerup for you to explore. Instead of embarrassing yourself you should spend 5 minutes online researching this stuff.
