I'm actually renewing welkins today. I've never been more excited for a new version's characters. They showed so many that I might roll for.
Usually I only feel like I'll roll maybe 3 times in a year and in reality it's more like 2 times. But this time it seems like I'll roll like half the characters at least. And there are still a bunch we haven't seen yet.

I joined around March 2025. Genshin is the gacha I play least. They give you next to nothing, while other gacha games will give you a 5-star here and there. Each chest you open is between 1-2 primos generally, while other games like to give 5/10/20 sets of premiums for chests as they scale up in rarity. Genshin provides the least free stuff for a new F2P player, and tackling the game with Diluc and Keqing and Barbara is doing it in handicapped retard mode (and they know this). So, of all the gacha games on the market, I recommend Genshin dead last, despite the fact that its explorable world is probably the most expansive and interesting and, perhaps consequently, that would mean there's the most stuff to do in this game. I log in to collect my 150 daily gems and go most days (yes I pay $5/mo - they got me).

I haven't dropped it yet but am considering it. I played it very casually off and on since launch because I like the world, lore and character design, occasionally getting a 5 star. I only recently started playing more seriously and after getting Skirk and Escoffier and building them up, everything in the overworld gets deleted in less than two seconds. I didn't really have any strong party setups before that.

It's making exploration rather boring. I don't know what I was expecting, heh. Call me a retard I guess. Wondering if I should play ZZZ instead.

So what's the general consensus on Natlan? I checked out after the first update and never bothered to return, but lately I've been thinking about installing the game again because I kind of miss mindlessly exploring its world. Did they finally add a skip button? Did they hire an editor to trim down the overly verbose dialogue? Did they update the photo mode?

they've done it before, just didn't go far enough. Problem is that powercreep has increased the DPS ceiling, but reaction damage hasn't kept up. Before 2024 you could totally have a team carried by raw reaction damage. Not really the case any more. And that makes the combat a lot less interesting.
Like the obvious solution for freeze was to simply allow bosses to maintain the frozen aura even if they didn't actually get frozen in place. I think only crystallize and maybe superconduct need full reworks.

I stopped before natlan came out, from the trailers I could see the thing was going to be a shitshow and one day I was farming for mats and realized I was not enjoying the game, I just forced myself to log in to not miss a day to be able to farm the mats I "needed" because if not I would need to log in another day and that would set me back 2 or 3 days. The thing turned into a job and I could use that time to play real games instead of running on a virtual treadmill.
