Made me unironically pog multiple times. weapons are all fantastic and layered, has a shmups ever done the bullet stalling mechanic before? Feels amazing to force you way through bullet patterns with well placed melee/charge attacks. Im up to the true final boss but too scared to jump in without full continues. If I fail do I get to keep my continues or will I have to earn them all over again?

Actual spoilers. Do not read if you want to experience things raw.
If you fuck up the game resets everything but the leaderboard.
The computer wasn't kidding about the risks

it wipes your save
narratively it's really satisfying, you'll probably lose the first couple times but as you keep coming back you'll get good enough to basically 1cc the game and make it back to that point really fast

That's rough, it seems from that point on every attempt will be without continues supposing I do 1cc up to that point. I'll stock my continues and give it an honest go but I know Im liable to crack under the pressure. Any unique mechanics to watch out for? The ikaruga bubbles and the orbs you have to crack at the same time before the final boss ate a few continues when I did it blind.

Yes https://youtu.be/yjxhHQdFMVw https://youtu.be/QB-b07FGuKM
2hu has done multiple variations of this. In general its a series about gimmicks and over the top presentation. Most zeroranger fans are 2hu fans, who are also undertale fans. Hence all the 2hu and undertale references in zeroranger. So I'd suggest going to 2hu from zeroranger, then going to CAVE games, which should be approachable after you've 1cc'd a few 2hus. Then you can mess with autism shit like hellsinker.

its doable first try, most likely on second try. The mechanic is infamous but also not that bad since once you're accustomed to the game, you can get to the end in 1-2 hours and you'll clear more levels in a row and game over to bank the score. The first 4 continues you can get no sweat.

I respect it but it's making me realize that maybe I don't actually enjoy shmups. Something's just not clicking and I think it's me that's the problem. Didn't refund it because the devs are still based and I appreciate what they're trying to do.
