In Ep2, Renee tells Ashley she knows they killed Nina, Ashley says she has no idea what Renee is talking about, but in Ep3 there's a flashback of Ashley telling her.
In Ep2 Burial path start, Andrew expresses surprise and distress at the future vision asking "we're not like like that are we?" but Ep3 flashbacks portrays him as having only barely holding back his lust and Ashley as really blatantly coming onto him.
Ep3 flashback portrays Ashley as fine without Andrew for a year which clashes quite a bit against her portrayals in other flashbacks as completely dependent
Ep3 family murder plan is awkward with how fast Andrew ramped up the sociopathy compared to the disgust and dismay he showed in the Ep1 and Ep2 murders

I'm aware of the various hand-wave explanations by fans, but the point is that the continuity is weaker than before. It's like with Breaking Bad from season 3 and onwards: the weak spots aren't technically plot holes because you can readily hand-wave it away with reasonable sounding explanations, but the overall continuity is still weaker for needing to excuses at all.

Okay the camper family scene I'm not going to defend as that's one of the things I'll admit was a flaw in episode 3.

But Ashley tends to not have the best memory for some details considering she doesn't remember Nina's name, so I don't think it's too much of stretch she wouldn't be able to remember those as well.

I don't really think she was actually doing okay either. She dropped out of high school and is throwing her life away trying to get shitty jobs.

As for Andrew trying to deny being that way to Ashley in Burial, it can be very easily that Andrew is trying to lie to her because he doesn't want to have her use it against him and because he's embarassed about it. And him being embarassed about it checks out with his behaviour in episode 3 where he struggles with his complicated feelings on Ashley as he admits that to Lord Unknown.

Also trying to say it's like out of context scenes that Nemlei thought would be cool to add, misses out how they're there to serve to show and contextualize the character's pasts and dive deeper into their feelings and perspectives. It still serves for the story's narrative.

Aye, admittedly. The cop scene was just idiotic. The bathroom scene teased in a devlog was a nothingburger. It didn't even look that weird for the cop to react that way. The school scene with Andrew overhearing the rumors shown in a teaser seemed pretty coherent, but then it comes to the actual school bit in the episode and it's like "SEX WITH SISTER SEX WITH SISTER SEX WITH SISTER SEX WITH SISTER". Ep 2 did so much better at conveying their repressed yearning for each other in a compelling manner.
