I can't say much to compare it with other FromSoft titles because i have only played Sekiro and Elden Ring but imo it's one of the best games ever released. You get a dopamine hit each time you hear the "clang" sound of deflecting. Also it's 10 times better if you're into Japslop because it's one at its core. Definitely recommended.

Tell me about it. The Body of the Many was a survival horror for how few bullets I had. I had to quickly shove a point into heavy weapons so I could use all those grenades that were laying around. later on you will probably fuck around with certain moves or abilities and go "what the fuck you can do that!" and then proceed to have fun weebing it up all over the enemies that once stomped you hard.
The music and vibes are great, the imagery and world are beautiful. The ghost enemies and such add a mysterious element.

well the game is so artificial. Parries can be made easier, or harder... but why would you make them harder? if you keep missing parries, is it because you suck or are they set too narrow? when you DO parry was it good on your part, or was it luck, or did you set the window too high?
ultrakill was so satisfying because being able to reflect a laser with a coin you flicked takes genuine skill and the time window is so narrow.

I havent played your game, but I bet its the same thing. Removing this part that took skill only to make it optional defeats the fucking point.
Shaving off friction for the sake of, I guess "ease of use" makes for a much much less compelling and interesting game that doesnt sit in your memory as well

try call of juarez: gunslinger (you can unlock an arcade mode and it is pretty alright) or dustforce. if you want you can also try rally games, they are usually all about time trials.

in all honesty i wouldn't really recommend it. the game play is alright but very repetitive. there are lots of guns but upgrading them is a pain in the ass and a handful of them is all you really need, like the ak and the revolver.
you also need the collectibles to get all upgrades and there are a whopping 1k collectibles to get including the dlc i think.
The dialog is really fucking bad and the even explicit say NeoGaf in the final mission.

I finished crafting my first ring a couple days ago. The end result is great. My design wasn't simple for a novice but I managed to execute it perfectly. The teachers liked it a lot.
Leaving neetdom feels doable lately. I'm learning new skills, some of which will hopefully help me get a decent job and others which are just for pleasure but might also become possible career paths down the line. I'm going out at least three times a week and have reconnected with some old friends. It's weird to feel hope after so long. I still have a ton of issues and bad days but everything feels doable, like my self-belief is actually waking up little by little.

I have 2100hrs in XiV, started playing back in 2021 when the "wow refugee" hype train arrived. Not really my cup of tea at the end of the day. The engine is horrible, so PvP is dogshit in comparison to lets say WoW arena, which means my favorite activity is gonna stay dogshit until they come up with a new engine. Also hated the glam slots limitation. I like collecting armor sets / cool gearpieces that I wound somewhere, sadly, in XIV im limited to... 800 slots, I believe? Also Dawntrail ended up being shit vibe-wise. I was pretty impressed by the plot quality by the end of hehe Endwalker, they also managed to fuck it up.

What comes to wow - I can't make myself passionate about the game anymore. I've played it since I was 10 or 11, got to r1, played all the classes, witnessed every expansion launch starting from Cata, cleared m+s, did RP, farmed keys with the boys, played lvl 20 trial twinking. Also played the shit out of classic, be it Nostalrius, Elysium, 2019 rerun and a lil bit of SOD. Official wow is shit, the current dev team have nothing to do with wow, its some random they/them females reshaping the game into a disgusting abomination.
So ye, I just want something new. Something fresh.

While it's just as unforgiving as you've been told, once you get a foothold it's not so complicated.
Right now my biggest problem is that I can't find a path through the Magma Sea, so I'm going to punch through it like an Aquifer, except that I've never actually done that before, and I have no inkling as to how deep this bitch is.

my biggest hurdle has always been the same with those sorts of sandbox games.
I understand that you find the fun yourself but I just don't know what each option is or why I would do it so I find it hard to prepare for it.
When I've tried dorf I typically reach a point shortly after setting up the early workshops where I just fail to figure out next steps.
Doesn't help when I probably walk myself into traps like depression loops or population control problems.
I do want to like the game but the learning curve kicks my arse.
