>every single release feels like it's accompanied by drama.
thats because /v/, like most social media sites do, has become too popular and arteficial.
Theres no upvotes, no likes, no ID, this is the kind of thing that once made 4chan good, why would you come to /v/? for honesty, with no updoots or ID you could post whatever you thought, no backlash or negative wrongthink points
it was a place where people said what they actually thought, for better or worse, instead of curating the right opinions like with the shithole of plebbit

these days its just as bad here, everyone is so... artifiical. Pretending to be mad, happy, sad, excited over anything. everyone is pretending to be interesting, being facecious, being retarded on purpose. its like kids seeing "trolling" but not even understanding how to do it, so they just act like retards thinking theyre 'winning' when people call them retards.
that makes 4chan worse, without upvotes or score... youre doing it for FREE.

fact is 4chan is too mainstream now, infested with 2016 tourists AND reddit tourists AND 2020 tourists AND 2022 tourists.
These kids grew up on social media, the oldfags of 4chan grew up with either nothing or some wild west chatroom back in the day, never had to pretend to be cool to anyone. The new users here are all brainrotten from algorithm chasing and user score min maxing.

so they pretend to be outraged, to be retarded, to be angry. all to get invisible points that dont exist.
its all artificial, even the trophy. The art of trollingis long since lost, and all we're left with is tripe.

ugh, they just dont get it
no one wants to add in something that makes the game 'worse', but the existence of that thing being worse makes mastering it all the more satisfying.
I mentioned I recently tried ultrakill >>716396647 and this kind of came up, why did I not like doom dark ages (other than the fucking £80 price)
well the game is so artificial. Parries can be made easier, or harder... but why would you make them harder? if you keep missing parries, is it because you suck or are they set too narrow? when you DO parry was it good on your part, or was it luck, or did you set the window too high?
ultrakill was so satisfying because being able to reflect a laser with a coin you flicked takes genuine skill and the time window is so narrow.

I havent played your game, but I bet its the same thing. Removing this part that took skill only to make it optional defeats the fucking point.
Shaving off friction for the sake of, I guess "ease of use" makes for a much much less compelling and interesting game that doesnt sit in your memory as well

same issue I have with nu monster hunter too as a super old fag of that series

>they NEED total, constant stimulation
>always need a video playing
>always need a game running
>always need music blaring
>cannot be alone with their thoughts (non existent)
>cannot ruminate
>cannot just be silent
>actively plays vidya with a sloptuber on the other monitor at the same time
grim.
