Which was a good thing. Armored core got better when they started making bigger changes to the formula. 6 was just continuing a trend from 4 and 5 of larger changes after they had made like a dozen games where all they did was dial the heat system up and down. No one even liked heat.

Armored Core 6 is the lowest selling Fromsoftware game since Dark Souls 2 and failed to attract any attention in the long term. It's a dead series that failed to pull back in either old fans or new fans

I kinda feel like I accidentally trivialised the game without trying.
My build was very lightweight and I dual wielded that one full auto pistol you can get very early on (After the first or second proper mission). Then I put a laser cannon on by shoulder and the lightest rocket pod for maximum speed/dodges.
For FCS I just picked the one with the highest close combat stat.
The general tactic during a boss or enemy AC fight was the following:
Just hold down 3 of the 4 shoulder buttons (2 pistols + laser cannon) the entire time and shoot the rockets as soon as they're off cooldown.
Don't even bother about aiming or so, just get in the enemy's face blasting on full auto the whole time. As soon as you break their stance,RELEASE the laser cannon shot for big damage.
This strat was so incredibly braindead because it frees up all of your attention for dodging but it was so effective at the same time.
I first tried so many bosses with this build. Only when I faught the Balam leader I had to switch loadouts because the pistol ammo would run dry, not because I was getting killed.
Especially in 1v1 Arena mode fights this was unstoppable.

I had great fun but going online and seeing people having trouble beating bosses I felt like my build was just by accident completely OP and I though the game was just that easy.

Yeah, I think the mechanics naturally funneled me into this type of build.
>being fast means I don't get hit
>being close means enemies miss a lot and I hit most of my shots

Then it became only a matter of balancing energy
Only on my subsequent runs for all the endings I considered looking up what all the numbers actually do and turns out holding a charge the whole time is abolute trash for "stamina" aka energy regeneration but apparently the drawback wasn't big enough. I of course then tried out other builds for fun on NG+ but for the final endboss I went back to my trusty Gold Lightning.

Is there any content coming out for it? I loved playing it on release, but I stopped playing after I S ranked all the missions and got the achievements and I am not really interested in sweating in PvP, Fires of Raven best ending btw.

Never played the other games in the series but its honestly probably one of the best games I ever played. I'd probably put it just below Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Demon's Souls.

I started by playing six and loved the 1st gen though. Less of a fan of the second gen though. Feels like weapons in it are either shit with lots of ammo or ok with 100 bullets in it

Second gen had the most overpowered Karasawa in the entire series by far though.

Very good, had a lot of fun with it. The campaign is great. When the stars align and you get a pvp match with somebody around your skill level, not using broken shit, and ping is good the pvp is a lot of fun. I'd imagine most matches anymore are just autists using the broken shit again and again though.
