I miss this WoW. Every once in a while I get the urge to play, then I look up the game again and it just looks like a disaster on every front.

I remember being excited for Legion because I was so fucking hyped about Turalyon. I remember speculating about him a lot because the lore with him was so interesting.
In hindsight that expansion was pretty crap still though.

Yeah agreed. When I finally quit the game (after being addicted for like 10 years) I would literally wake up in the middle of the night and realize I was dreaming about warcrack and it'd make me want to play the next day. I'd make a level 1 character (which is free now) and run around the world and it took around 15 minutes to realize I actually don't want to play this at all anymore.

Classic was fun enough for the memories but I have no interest in playing the game again. Anyway this game can't exist as it was with the current internet landscape. Everyone is too focused on efficiency (meta-gaming, extreme selectiveness of classes for content, etc) and get their social fix from their discord clique.

Too bad he just ended up being a middle aged boring guy who doesn't really do anything. They haven't been able to make a compelling paladin character since Tirion because they abandoned the Christian theme for the character type, instead replacing it with the light as an element like fire or water. I haven't played in forever but as far as I remember it, anything relating to the light as a divinity that comes with a moral code and a social structure built around it is just totally abandoned, and instead it's more like just a tool that can be used to heal or harm.

I guess the beginning of the end for the paladin class was blood elves being able to be paladins through an alternative source, that just opened the door to it being a whatever class in terms of what it's supposed to be.
