>This was just a one time announcement because she felt that as a vtuber it is important for her to make that announcement. I bet you she’s never gonna bring him up ever again
This makes no sense. If she is never gonna bring any of this up ever again, then why bother revealing it at all? She could've just kept her personal life private, and she would always have plausible deniability for anything, the fact that she even announced it means she will likely bring this up again later. She will do it when she announces she will leave for her marriage, take a break for the honeymoon, shit, maybe even a pregnancy announcement later on. Again, she never needed to bring any of this up.
>I don’t understand how this is some sort of evil master plan she pulled on you all.
She couldn't as a hololive member, but she could've announced as soon she debuted as Nimi. It would've been the actual honest thing to do. Don't you think that it's slimy that she just kept her mouth shut for so long until recently? Do you think vtubers have nothing to gain from having their relationship status be uncertain? If she didn't have anything to gain, and wanted to reveal it, why not reveal it right away? The very fact that her reasoning was "It would be unsustainable to hide it long-term" and not that she was hiding it at all doesn't corroborate with "I just wanted to be honest and I didn't gain anything from being dishonest"
>If people sperg out over some woman they never had a chance with anyway
This is just projection on your part. I don't care if vtubers have partners, I just don't want to know. I treat the vtuber as separate from the person behind it, the person behind it can do whatever the fuck they want, that was part of the appeal of vtubing as opposed to normal streaming. Also it is dishonest, bro. Vtubers have everything to gain from feeding the fantasy that they're attainable and relatable, whether they explicitly lean into the fantasy or not.
