Sony and Microsoft are bot going third party.
The only ting that could make this more of a win is Square Enix dying next.

You do realize there's more money to be made in going third party?
Nintendo's only limiting itself by keeping their games exclusive to their last generation hardware. Although i'd argue they've bled enough talent that their new games just don't interest me at all, even if they were ported to other systems, but you fags seem to still like them, so they would probably make a lot more money if they went third party too.

You do realize going third party is how they were able to stay in business? It was objectively the right move.
And if a dying Sega was able to stay relevant through going third-party, think about how much more money Nintendo would make if they did the same.
Not that i particularly care either way. I mean i'm personally not interested in their games anymore, but it's food for thought.
Ironically enough i'm a lot more interested in Sega's games than Nintendo's these days.

Nintendo will be forced to do it eventually as well. The economics of spending 8 years and having thousands of people work on one game like their recent releases makes exclusivity a bad idea in the long run.

Nintendo is still having trouble coaxing 3rd parties to their platform. The Novelty of a Big 1st party game from a rival company would do decent sales. The Mario machine is still going to get passed over for the bigger 3rd party titles like GTA 6 which will release console first and most assuredly be 80 - 90% Playstation gamers. I just don't see how this is a losing move.

Of course. Didn't you know that Hiroshi Yamauchi wasn't actually a human being? He was a vessel that enclosed 7 yakuza oni spirits from 7 different regions in Japan. These oni monopolized the gambling in Japan with the hanafuda Nintendo cards and put a spell so that no other company could produce cards, truly evil.

Yamauchi, often referred to as "ๅคง้ญ”็Ž‹ ใƒ†ใ‚ฃใƒฉใƒŽๅคฉๅ ‚" (Great Evil King Tyranotendo), tyranized the video games market with his monopolic practises, it is said that the Master System or the PC Engine didn't actually ever exist, and that they were invented time after so hide the fact that the Famicom was actually the one and only console existing in Japan.
Thankfully, 3 warriors from the western world, known as Electronic Arts, Activision and Ubisoft, aka "The Allies", sealed the oni back and now the oni are shut in their respective temples. But we must be careful, we never knew when the seals could be removed, and the demons of Tyranic Monopoly run rampant free again.
