Nintendo's only limiting itself by keeping their games exclusive to their last generation hardware. Although i'd argue they've bled enough talent that their new games just don't interest me at all, even if they were ported to other systems, but you fags seem to still like them, so they would probably make a lot more money if they went third party too.

And if a dying Sega was able to stay relevant through going third-party, think about how much more money Nintendo would make if they did the same.
Not that i particularly care either way. I mean i'm personally not interested in their games anymore, but it's food for thought.

Nintendo will be forced to do it eventually as well. The economics of spending 8 years and having thousands of people work on one game like their recent releases makes exclusivity a bad idea in the long run.

It's what they've been doing for awhile isn't it? Console exclusivity isn't profitable enough anymore. A heavy delay before releasing elsewhere seems to be working ok.

Yamauchi was a petty motherfucker, but he is the only reason Nintendo did not jump dick fist into every bad, dumb idea the industry drag their nuts through. The only mistake Yamauchi made was saving Square when they were down during the GBA era. He should have let them die.

Nintendo is still having trouble coaxing 3rd parties to their platform. The Novelty of a Big 1st party game from a rival company would do decent sales. The Mario machine is still going to get passed over for the bigger 3rd party titles like GTA 6 which will release console first and most assuredly be 80 - 90% Playstation gamers. I just don't see how this is a losing move.
