Might be last thread i make on this. Updates been good, had a lot of fun gaming this weekend but i feel the ending is a complete letdown. Residences somehow ends up as less of a sector than security. The praetoreum was cool though. Also post scientists
I kinda hate how raids work, feels more like that one shithead cousin is visiting and you're forced to keep him in your room for a while than whatever

Got the first upgrade on the Wessex and comparing it to the upgraded Magbow, to be honest I think the Magbow is still better. With the Sneak 15 perk they both one-shot any order soldier on a headshot but during actual combat the Sniper can't one-shot breachers like the Magbow can. Tried it against the Gatekeepers I can readily fight minus Jotuns, the Sniper's not oneshotting either the regular grunts or the Techpriests. The Magbow is able to one shot the grunts as long as they don't have their shields up, and I've killed the Techpriests in one headshot as long as it's from the behind. Also, one thing that really irks me is how the sniper seems like it goes off of CoD logic if you hipfire it so you can't noscope people, whereas the magbow works how every other gun does and the bolt will go to where your reticle is. Does the freezing upgrade on the Sniper make it that much better? I really love the animations and sound design but the Magbow just seems more practical.

This game could REALLY use a better map.
I had all the areas memorized before the update, but now that I've returned to the game after a long break, I've completely forgotten how and where all the different areas connect with each other, and where the entranced to the various portal worlds are. This map is mostly useless.

I normally really hate these survival craft games because every fucking game that comes out these days is a survival craft game but this one has captured my interest. Reminds me of half life and Prey.
I just got out of Flathill and now the raids have the exor guys and the peccarys instead of just pests. That's kind of stressful because I'm all out of 9mm bullets and the pipe pistol seems to shoot pretty slow. Maybe I'll try some traps.
It was funny to me that the chopinator or whatever fan trap just stunlocked the guard robots to death.

>dismantle/butcher/smash actions
No idea why they differentiate between these actions. Most of it is arbitrary, robot can be cut with a knife, vents can be dismantled but computers need to be smashed. We still cant store corpses in a freezer for later use.
This game is starting to rub me off the wrong way. Everything I (or people) have asked for they haven't bothered to implement in any way since early access. Instead, what they have done is pushed a half-finished product and publicise it as complete. For a game claims to be inspired by half life and science, nothing beyond the initial paint job is related to half life. Science is just crafting mundane shit to progress. No object physics, nothing that resembles the gravity gun nor anything that inspires creativity from the players besides the typical survival game base building. Which by the way, still doesn't have grid snapping feature. But here, take this Japanese styled home base I am sure we demanded the devs to include.
I will continue playing it since I bought this shit more than a year ago. Not looking good so far. The trash highschool tier UI design is not making it any easier..
>>716477525>reduced number of enemiesOk, this is serious. Is it apparent in other cases, like liddite checkpoint with machineguns in manufacturing? I remember there was A LOT of grunts.

If you do kill him, he drops some more and cutting his corpse could give you his suit that acts like a hazmat suit. You can salvage the suit for some leather.
If you have the net thrower gun and a blunt weapon, you can get a nice 30 slot backpack if you stun him with the net gun and then kill him with a blunt weapon. It's very specific. He has to be un stunned animation and the kill must be with blunt damage.

So far, my experience is
>Some dude just rushing everything because they have played the early access
>Everybody split up for resources & exploration, so most of the maps are unexplored by you yourself
>Doesn't feel the slightest scary or worry feeling at all because there's so many people that can help gather food, water, resources, etc and fight monsters together
I think going multiplayer is the worst way to play this game.

Should I diversify my attacks are am I fine just grinding up blunt only so it's as high as it can be
Do you guys break down furniture at all? I feel like I'm maybe spending too much time hammering shit and wheeling back to my boxes on a cart
>>716481073You can pick up water coolers and just fill them up at any source of water so you can have a dirty water source next to your cooking station for easy boiling
>>716481073No need to lug the whole base.
You can carry an empty water cooler to a pool and fill it right there by seleting the cooler in your hot bar and pointing at the pool.
You can then carry that full, heavy cooler back to base and pill your pots from the cooler to boil.
Also you don't have to go to the pool. You can fill your pots, coolers and barrels from the fountain next to Warren.
You can even fish from that tiny thing.
what's your favourite main base spot?
Why's the game recompiling shaders every time I launch it?
>>716481264floor 3 offices, easy water source, enclosed space with doors, easy to guard, shock water pool also fucks anything up early game
>>716481073>should I lug all my shit up to that area? There are a handful of water sources, but the fountain in the plaza is the earliest and easiest. I would probably recommend any cooking base be near it or one of the others.
>Should I diversify my attacks are am I fine just grinding up blunt only so it's as high as it can beYou could focus on 2 attack types, but I would only focus on 1 melee type, personally. Yes, there are enemies much more vulnerable to sharp OR blunt, but fuck splitting all your EXP between them. Dual spec into bullet weapons or if you're feeling quirky, thrown weapons.
>Do you guys break down furniture at all?Personally? No. Not unless I'm desperate for lumber. Breaking PC cases and monitors is more useful than smashing every chair you come across.

is there a way to handle food early on without getting radiation poisoning all the time? I do have a tomato seed and a bag of soil so I assume I am missing some kind of recipe for a farming device or block
>>716481949Along with soil, plastic and wood, you also need 2 hoses, for each "block" of farming.
Early game those are fairly rare or hidden away until you get to Manufacturing where there are boxes that hold hoses and a portal world for infinite hoses.
>>716482292it takes quite a few cooked pieces of monster to fill the hunger bar, so I guess I need to power through for now
Does anybody else have this constant crash issue?
It keeps popping up Fatal Error and crash.
It happens way too often.
>>716482413Unfortunately yes.
Mind you that minor radiation poisoning doesn't matter at all. It's just there to scare you, so don't waste anti-rad pills as soon as you see the icon.
It's when you get medium poison, there you start to get actual consequence of puking and losing both food and water.
>>716482540The game's hasn't crashed even once for me, neither before the update, nor after.

I see people recommend turning exp gain up a little so you get max level skills before the end of the game, but I also see 1.0 changed the EXP gain. I'm going to restart my old world that wasn't very far, do you guys leave it default now, or bump it up a bit?
