>get Mario Wonder
>decide to play it with my niece
>beat the first level together
>"this game sucks, I don't wanna play it anymore"
Tiktok has ruined gen alpha

Wonder's biggest problem is a lack of difficulty. You'd have to try very hard to lose in most of the levels.

the addiction to instant gratification is a little concerning. My experience with the younger kids in my family is they really just don't like losing at anything, and you get the sense they would kind of rather watch the game than play it. Doesn't bode well for the future of games.

Yup it’s apparent even zoom zooms would rather watch a twitch stream than play a game. They hold more importance on the amount of twitch views a game has over how many copies it sells and how good it actually is.

I got my gf who doesn’t normally play vidya to play it, and she was having fun.

Different strokes. I played it and Sonic Superstars with friends and we honestly had more fun with bug-ridden Sonic game.

they do youtuber voice and try to make quips, and then just get really mad the second any kind of barrier to progress arises. I'm really not sure they entirely understand the concept of what a game is. Hopefully it goes away with age, but I dunno.

Nigga, zoomers are grown. You're thinking of Gen Alpha.

Nope millennial. Gen alpha completely fried their brains

They’re grown but not mentally. They still grew up with twitch.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of

Kids don't like Mario anymore, bro. Or at least 2D ones, try to make her play 3D world, she may enjoy it more.

That's my experience too. I'll try to play something like Sonic 2 with my nieces and nephews and the instant they get stuck or lose a life then they're done.

I let my cousins, around 9 years old, play this game in co-op, as they wanted to try the Switch. They had fun, but it became really obvious to me why the game is so damn easy. Kids can't play games. Every level they tried, all of them in the first world, took them a couple of tries, and they had to pop each other out of the bubble frequently.
