Reminder that Dixie being replaced with Loli Pauline was a late development change which is why she has the exact same size as diddy, why she acts like Diddy and bangs her chest like a monkey in cutscenes, and why her coop ability is to bring out a target on the screen that you shoot stuff with (Diddy's peanut gun in DK64).

he does bring out a boombox and rap though in DKC2, though I will admit this is one of the mechanics that likely was changed alongside the story when they decided to make it Pauline rather than Diddy.

Really, her entire storyline could have been completely cut out of the game and it wouldn't have effect gameplay at all. She's there mostly to be a voice acted mouthpiece and your Navi, honestly I'm not ruling out that they replaced Diddy with Pauline simply because they couldn't come up with enough active gameplay mechanics for him to actually feel like Diddy when he was just riding on your back

Last time I posted that I got at least 5 posts telling me I was wrong and retarded. But if you like the change then I don't mind, to each their own. Personally I would have really liked seeing a new game with both DK and Diddy as a team again, thought the game still does seem very fun (seen my friend play it a lot as his house)

Ah, well, /v/ is filled with retards. I was definitely hoping for Diddy and Dixie to be playable or sidekicks as well, but I really enjoyed what we got. I'm hoping the game prompts a third retro DKC game to finish off a second trilogy, complete with the Kremlongs and all the Kongs again. Replaying TF on hard mode with just diddy/dixie/cranky and no DK was super fun.

Dixie looks good. Diddy does not. And it's because Dixie has a lot of extra details which help when all the parts are brought together unlike Diddy.
>Dixie's eyelashes create a hard border so her eyes pop more. Diddy's eyeballs are touching his fur, but his fur is so thick that they look both flat and sunken.
>the gap between their nose, the fur for Dixie blends as it's not as thick, nicely at the point where the eyelashes end. Diddy's thick fur and no border makes it look like two separate pieces of a cheap model pushed together
>Dixie has hair, which adds extra depth and another layer to her model - it can cover a lot of the connecting parts and adds more pop to her look. Diddy has no extra hair, so once again that thick ear and hat just snap together
>Dixie's hat is big and puffy, so her badge just sits there nicely and look naturally. Dixie's hat is tight, so his badge doesn't sit as nicely and if you think about it, it's not clear how it would actually attach and be comfortable. The badge being the same colour as the hat also makes it look a little odd compare to Dixie's.
