Alright. Basically waiting on a promotion to go through. Health wise, I got skinny fat during the depressed years, so just working on getting that down. Really, I'm content with how things are going. Dating life is also pretty great, but admittedly, just going on these because I missed a couple of years when I was broke and depressed. I don't really see anything long-term right now.

All in all, three years ago, I was considering just ending it all because of debt and not seeing any future. Managed to bounce hard since then, so shit does end up working out if you put some effort.

Just finished the Union campaign in Ultimate General Civil War.
Was a cakewalk because I was outnumbering the rebs 3:1 and could just wash over them with literal meat waves.
Also in the middle of the Trade Federation campaign in Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds.
It's pretty interesting playing an actual baddie for a change.

I don't think there are any future releases I am excited about, unless DORF and Compound Fracture deliver on their promises... in a few (many) years.

Week is over, some work problems are hopefully over, and now I am going to have a beer and watch the Wacken livestream.

Aside from the text being too small despite being on a 55 inch 4k I am enjoying it. I've noticed all the criticisms in the reviews seem to be gone. E.g. you CAN pause the game and you CAN play solo and there ARE event races like TDU OG. Not sponsored just saying I thought my $25 gamble at the retro shop would have gone alot worse.

Lately I've been getting into looking back and emulating a lot. I picked up a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, and semi-recently swapped it for a Flip 2. I've been tearing through old games, and really enjoying myself. In the past 2 months, I beat 90% of the castlevania franchise, all the Legacy of Kain and Soul Reaver games, legend of dragoon, SNES harvest moon, and Monster Hunter Freedom, Freedom Unite, Portable 3rd with an english patch, and I'm working on 3U right now. Gives me a great excuse to sit on my couch, instead of in my computer chair.

This is an old chart but I like these games. I play a wide range of genres and difficulties. I own every single console (except Microsoft because why would I) except for the current gen because it's pointless now. I have played every single video game in existence from gen 3-5, and most gen 6 and 7 games of value. Now steam releases 19,000 games a year and the line between console and PC is blurred (A console is just a PC in a microbubble with 1% of the games now) so that's obviously impossible to play all of them. I believe you could go to the recently released games list on steam and find a game better than 99% of NES games on any given day.

I went originally because I was curious, and wanted to buy some dice. Wound up talking to one of the employees, who was the son of the owner, and found out about some events they were holding soon. It depends on your game store, but some specialize in certain games. My store is big on 40k wargaming and Magic the gathering, but everyone seems to dabble a bit in all the other games.

Just go and ask if they have open game nights, or any big groups that play a certain game. Most stores I've seen are more than happy to guide players to a group.

I had the same feeling at the start of this year, anon. I wound up picking up guilty gear strive, and playing on a controller instead of my dusty old fight stick. Strive does a pretty decent job of pairing you up with people around your skill level I think. I also don't have the patience to sit in the lab and mash out combos anymore, but I've done alright in matchmaking.

I played strive for a week on release and just aped my way to celestial with Leo and just dropped it. Holy hell I am so disillusioned with this genre. When MvC2 released on fightcade on flycast I had so much more fun and made all kinds of lifelong memories, this genre really is done. There are much greener pastures for multiplayer these days. Just spent hundreds of hours completing Death Stranding 2.

Now it's been almost 2 weeks and I have played nothing.
I open up the playstation store and steam every day and look at my wishlists and buy nothing.

I just feel empty and gaming doesn't get me excited anymore. I've played so many games and played pretty much every game I even want to play, and even just browsing through the stores looking for anything to play nothing stands out to me anymore.

It's hard because I just don't play multiplayer games at all anymore. I just don't want to. When I was younger I played a lot of them in my teens and 20s but now I just don't care for it. I just want long, deep single player experiences that are atmospheric, something like the Witcher 3 that I can immerse myself in for an entire month until its finished.

I guess I'll get Ghost of Yotei, Metroid Prime 4, Gears of War remastered (fuck them for not including 2 and 3 with it), and honestly there's nothing else I can even think of coming out anytime soon I want to play.

I don't even really want to play Yotei, but it's a big single player game so I will.

I guess maybe I'll get Borderlands 4 and just play that single player too. I hated 3 but they're still fun games at least.

The Blind monk ghosts in the underground when you lose your camera was more tense than any encounters I had in OG RE's. Had a pretty decent 2025.
Xenoblade Chronicles X was a great port of a game I loved 10 years ago, been playing a lot of retro games this year so I could save money. Lot of PS1 games. Did Dino Crisis 1, Front Mission 3, Final Fantasy 9. Also beat .hack Infection again. Small replay of Pokémon Blue. Got back into DMC3 again for a few weeks. Xenosaga 1 playthrough. It's been a fun run so far. Doing Legend of Dragoon right now and then jump on the PS2 Shinobi.

Finally managed to carve out some time and played the DLC for Factorio. Considering how much time goes to family, I only now got around to it.

Nothing specific. Too much time goes to family. If I manage to snag a free week again, I’ll dig into my backlog or maybe check out what’s new.
But I don’t think that’ll happen soon—you know how much time kids demand, and it only gets more intense as they grow.
