Switch 1 launch year was mainly casual games, particularly 1-2 switch, snipperclips, ARMS and Mario Odyssey. The only really core game was BotW and then Mario Kart has universal appeal of course. But the Switch 2 has Hyrule Warriors, Metroid, Pokemon Legends and Kirby Air Ride for the core audience year 1, and I wouldn't say any of the games feel explicitly designed for casuals like ARMS or 1-2 switch did. You can even see it just comparing Mario Odyssey to its Sequel. Banaza is so much better for a core adult player than Odyssey was which felt like it was made for 3 year olds playing their first game.

Nintendo also wants you to go digital only eventually. The MKWorld bundle is a way to get people used to buying digital games in the same way the voucher system was. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo all want to control how you buy games and killing used games is a lot more money for each of them. They all want total control of their ecosystems and digital is the best way to do that, with the advent of the Switch 2 and the new cucked PS5/pro(*disc drive not included), every system now requires you to go online once. The base disc PS5 was the last console where you didn't need to make an account to use it. Tying the ability to play Switch 1 games behind a day 1 patch on the Switch 2 was such an odd decision.

There's also the fact that digital games are just cheaper for them to release and in Nintendo's case, digital games kill early game leaks. Even if the Switch 2 is blown open the same way the Switch 1 is, GKC games will require you to download them from Nintendo's servers so Nintendo can just not host the game early and people that get an early copy won't be able to leak it. GKCs have the same protection against leaks that digital games have.
