Dark Souls

Diablo 4 made me feel like Blizzard scammed me. It has a strong opening, then turns to utter shit.
Everyone was talking about how great the story and campaign was. It's fucking terrible. The only likeable character is the villain, everyone else is so annoying and whiny I was actively hoping for them to get killed of.

there is a thread for it, the game is barebones "early access" for now

PoE2 for sure. I doubt people remember Shadowflare but I liked that one a lot when I was younger. I enjoyed torchlight 2 and PoE1 as well. Dungeon siege 2 was also fun now that I think about it. If Nox counts that one was also good.

arpgs are a weird mix of spreadsheet simulation and combat.
imo arpgs are at their best when the combat is not too easy and getting loot is satisfying.

Shit sucks. I even upgraded my PC back in 2023 because old GPU was already struggling with everything, I thought D4 was reason enough to finally buy something new, and then I barely played. Worse than release Diablo 3, which I actually liked for several things, and gave me some excitement finding crazy rares, even if most other people hated the game. Reaper of Souls was also solid, with D4 I don't even feel like buying the expansion.

I don't really think it's a genre worth obsessing over. Most if not all of these are for people who don't like video games at all. Like what's even sparking neuron activity here? PoE is the only one that has literally any meat at all to it. Everything else is for people who have completely given up on trying.

I'm in the minority, but I like TL2. The reason being
>the graphics look timeless due to not trying to go with realism.. it still looks good as it is, whereas, the graphics of diablo 2 are noticeably old, which is why diablo 2 resurrected looks nice
>the pets buy and sell shit for me without me having to go back to town
this could be due to how i play the game of course. some anons may like going back to town

i wish there was more to do though, like GD branching quests or more places in general

Kingdom Hearts is my favourite ARPG, followed by Demon's Souls
