>"The best launcher."
This is honestly the worst storefront I have ever seen. I launch it like once a year and I always have to fiddle around just to remember how to find games on it. Just gunna uninstall it soon, as Temple of Elemental Evil was the last game it had of any value that steam did not, and that's getting ported to steam now.

But honestly every storefront seems atrocious compared to steam, it's very odd. Like I stopped playing minecraft because the Microsoft store version was too fiddly to work out the box and I didn't care enough to find a workaround. Like why is a game I could just install off the internet and play broken now? Just stupid.

I used to not have an opinion on this one, but I've been emulating it on Dolphin recently and it's pretty fun desu. Just has that Double Dash thing where you can get hit by a blueshell like 2 seconds after the last one. I find it to be funny more than annoying desu. The item balance is fun imo.

>I enjoy owning physical games
I have 863 games on steam, where the fuck am I going to put them? Cloud storage is superior and convenient. The consoles I own are the NES, SNES, Genesis, gameboy, gameboy pocket, gameboy color, n64, ps1, gba, GameCube, ps2, DS, Wii, PS3, PSP, Vita, 3DS, PS4, and Switch. I don't use a single one any more. They just sit in my closet and rot. Even if I want to play a game on them it's easier to just emulate it. Hell, I can sync my joycons to my PC with Bluetooth and use them as motion controllers. And a lot of my physical media is deprecated, like my pokemon blue cartridge can't hold save data anymore because the battery is dead. And a lot of these consoles, the whole appeal was not owning games, but being able to simply burn a CD on your computer and play it in them. This is why the PS2 was so popular.

Anime needs to be seeded. Someone actually has to do that. I've also already seen every old anime worth watching. Only newfags obsess over old things, there are tons of good anime released constantly. Ruri Rocks now, Cinderella Gray last season which is AOTY, there's always something good. Hell I've been watching anime for over 20 years and the best anime I have ever watched is 3-gatsu no lion, a 2016 anime. I remember when grumpy jiisan died, dude was on his deathbed at 89 years old excited to watch the latest seasonal anime. To be excited about a hobby like that is a life well lived. People who only watch old things do not like their hobby and should move on to something else they can genuinely feel optimistic about.

Steam had 19,000 games released on its platform last year alone. A focus on AAA is disengenous, as there are more independently developed games than ever. You can go to the new and trending section here
https://store.steampowered.com/category/action_run_jump/
And always find at least one game better than 90+% of NES games, of which there are only 768 US localized titles for its entire lifespan. Games are now made to be more challenging and for older audiences. If you can't find games it's because you don't like games. Zoomers have their own niche genres as well, obviously only a small percentage of the population plays video games which are not high budget movie slop for any given generation, but they have numerous titles which will mark their generation nonetheless. (Terraria, Factorio, Pizza Tower, Minecraft, Shovel Knight, Neon White, etc.) Is factorio really worse than OpenRCT2? Is Spark the Electric Jester 3 worse than Sonic Adventure 2? I feel the answer is pretty decisively no.

>in complete and utter fairness, "talking anime" becomes shit the moment you take it seriously
Not really, people have devoted their entire lives to sakugabooru, but /a/ doesn't even know what current animators are good and pulling the industry forward. Additionally, /a/ simply doesn't watch anime. 99% of /a/ didn't watch Cinderella Gray because they thought it was otaku and yucky. They didn't even try it. Half the board is people just reliving nostalgia for moldy old objectively bad anime and blatantly ignoring any publication that's not wsj or some arthouse magazine. Kingdom threads don't even break 100 replies usually even though it's frequently the top selling manga on oricon and getting an official English release in November. This is because things like Kingdom and CG are published in a magazine for actual men, which is not a demographic the 13 year old spics on /a/ can wrap their head around.

I don't really think it's a genre worth obsessing over. Most if not all of these are for people who don't like video games at all. Like what's even sparking neuron activity here? PoE is the only one that has literally any meat at all to it. Everything else is for people who have completely given up on trying.

What level of poverty and goycattlism are third worlders on to go to an internet cafe? It's always been absolutely terrifying to me that these exist. I remember getting a job at 12 years old to clean and wash dishes at a restaurant to buy a GameCube, and from there building my own PC and ultimately moving out at 18 and living independently. All because I just wanted to play video games and be left the hell alone. And here we have third worlders reminiscing about sitting in a tiny hot building surrounded by retards playing shitty games. I literally cannot understand this.
