I just had canes yesterday and holy crap it really sucked. The sauce is the most baffling part. People are always sucking off canes and praising the sauce, but it's not even that good. I'm pretty sure it's a mind a trick and the sauce seems good because it is absolutely necessary just to add flavor to the bland ass tendies and flavorless fries. The toast was ok though. 3/10, I don't want to, but I'll probably get it again and piss myself off in the future.

So who makes the best tendies? I've never had any that beat Safeway deli when they're fresh and not overcooked. The nice thing about supermarket deli chicken is you can see how good or bad it is before you buy it.

But the first time I went to shake shack I got a half bottle of wine from a judgment of paris winning winery and I was sold. That was like 15 years ago and now they're everywhere and I wish them well. Danny Myer knows how to throw together a restaurant at any price point, it would seem. If Culver's can compete with that more power to them but last I heard they wouldn't even open in "big cities" like Madison because there were too many homosexuals, so that's probably why SS makes half a billion a year in revenue and almost nobody outside of Wisconsin has heard of Culver's (I'm pretty well traveled so I know things)

The quality of the food you get at Cane's is dramatically different by location as there isn't much consistency or corporate control over the franchise locations. In PA it's great. In Ohio it's meh and no better than KFC.
Not sure why that is.
I have similar issues with Little Ceasar's, Wendy's, and Papa Johns. They're not worth spending money on in some states, and great in others.
