They really need to do a full pass on the map and make some places a little more build friendly. There is no reason I shouldn't be able to deconstruct the workout machines in the gym for example. or the table in security office in office complex.
Also, the train portal tram station is a really nice place to base but it's too cramped and needs more outlets. Why is there one here anyway? what is the purpose of this little alcove in the first place?
Are people really building multiple bases/moving their bases? I'm at the reactors and my base is still at the cafeteria
Is it even worth crafting the xray gun if you already have a turret?

best tip would be to adjust the sandbox setting, i recommend turning up the learning rate, increasing max stack size and reducing item weight if you're playing solo, otherwise you're going to struggle with looting
general advice for crafting games is to read the tool tips for all the craftables, and loot anything new you find. A lot of recipes unlock simply by finding new items
soup is the best way to deal with hunger and thirst, but it'll be kinda hard to access that stuff at the start so just cook and eat meat. >>717146526I've only used the laser grenades but the laser grenades work by
>you throw the grenade>it bounces about shooting lasers>once it finishes, it returns to your inventory with less charge>has enough charge for three uses, recharges with laser collector
>>717146526Laser Nades are amazing, the original version was one shot per grenade and then you had to pick them up to recharge them, so you could lose them if you threw them wrong, but the 1.0 versions can be thrown out three times per charge and automatically come back to your hand.
A well placed laser nade can nuke one of those yeti things in seconds.
>>717146624Keep going until you hit the little cafeteria area and talk to the guy hiding around there to get the diving suit. From there you have to go into the water to collect the red cubes that will help upgrade your keypad hacker and unlock another portal world.
>>717146692>>717146774damn that's pretty good, i never used the normal nades since theyre expensive to craft for disposables
>>717146624I'm pretty sure you can get to everything in the hydroplant without the level 5 hacker tool (since one of the mats for the hack tool are found just below the portal world for the area). About half or so of the hackable doors can be opened by getting to the other side of them and opening them like any other locked door.

>>717148740kinda, if you want pure armor then yes
but stuff like the exor armor and crystalline suit are viable because of the free tank and invisibility
the faster movement due to radiation is nice but its probably about the same as bionic legs. I once accidentally irradiated myself to 50 rads and got lightning speed but was puking non stop
>>717148851you can fill up a laser collector and carry it with you, then plop it down anywhere to recharge your weapon

How do I get overpowered weapons early on in this game? I've been playing for a few days with friends but I'm sick of dying every single time I venture out anywhere because all I have is a shitty pistol with maybe 7 bullets at a time and a sledgehammer that takes 2 and a half years to swing. Somebody help me out here, I finally crafted the T4 Hacker and got out of Security, but as soon as I've arrived at Hydroplant I'm met with T5 keypads and I don't know how to progress. I killed the sniper and used jump pads to sort of progress break where I could, but aside from turning on the warp pipe I didn't accomplish much. Do I have to just swim around and see if I can find an egress point?
>>717152716Dunno. My crafting bench has the anti-incursion upgrade, so whenever stuff spawns it spawns outside the glass walls. This is the first time I've seen Order troops though, or zombies on the roof for a matter of fact.
>>717154643there's a lot of ladders and shit on hydroplant, most of the doors there I opened from the backside. I don't really recall using the tool much.

When the game started introducing zombies, I was like ooh that's pretty spooky. Then the all dark security sector where the reaper is after you was also somewhat spooky.
Asking me to swim in the terror reservoir was an absolute pants shitting fear fest.
Is there an end to the game or is it just survival crafting circlejerk forever? I wanna buy it but if it has no end and it's just a crafting survival game I might drop it.
>>717160778It has a final boss fight and an ending but will also likely receive more content.
>>717160521I'll need to recheck it, then. I want a snowy base.
>>717128305Finally decided to move my office gym base, and not sure if I'm 100% convinced yet. Makes for kind of ugly building and wall placement is a little annoying, but turns out this is actually a stupidly safe location, even from the leyak (can't use mine door for some reason). Left a crafting bench in office for quick teleportation, so not too worried about being a bit out of the way. Was initially considering cascade labs around where the converters are, but didn't really care for blood spatters and other shit all over the place.
>>717154915Finding the buttons in that place is such a pain.
Labs aquarium is simply the best spot for a base
Help me out fellow researchers, I've seen my friend play this game and I fell in love with it
I want to play it pretty badly but would rather not spend money or something I wouldn't be able to run
I'm on a ZBook 15 G5 laptop with an I7 and a Quadro P2000 which seems to be a bit below the minimum requirements
Still, I'm no stranger to fucking around with game files or mods to make things run when they shouldn't
So I'd like to ask: has the community made any patches for poor saps like me?
>Additional Notes: Abiotic Factor runs on Unreal Engine 5. In spite of the art style, this will probably not run on your PC from 1997.
Is the perpetually moving train on Earth, like Flathill?
>>717162192No, but i think the implication is that if it stops it will blow a hole through every universe or something like that.
My only complaint regarding base design is there is too little options for creativity. Everyone might pick different locations but they all end up with the exact same "decorations" as there are very specific interesting items and then just a bunch of boring chairs and shit. I'd like to see like 20-30 more rugs, different bed designs, more interesting plants or lamps etc. Basically everyone lives in the same mancave arcade with shitloads of paintings scattered randomly.

We pretty much beat the game like that and collected everything the game has to offer.
It does have options for CPU usage in game and stuff too.
Worst areas were the new ones tho, even tho some mid to endgame areas felt more packed with enenies and bigger.
The worst fps for my gf was the Torii world. (a home world that you get with the supporters edition dlc) It was the only place where she felt it was unplayable but it is thankfully an optional place to set up base.
>>717160778Survival elements actually are pretty minor since food and water are everywhere and there is no real incentive to develop your base too much either as long as you can make whatever is required to progress the story until the end.

>>717165971Keep in mind a lot of weapons were either good or bad at some time and now that there are so many and with the upgrade system some have just been left at the wayside. The boring answer is that all science weapons fucking own, all guns are complete ass for how frustrating it is to hoard ammo for them, and almost all melee weapons belong in the dumpster. Maybe a handful of melee weapons feel good and the ones that do will feel good for the ENTIRE game. Whereas weapons that start ass don't suddenly become serviceable after one or two upgrades. Spears are probably the worst offender for this as they do fuckall damage, are slow as shit, and have basically 0 durability while all their upgrades are gimmicky bullshit.

>>717176184Chopinator with a shock trap or two under the blades will handle robots as long as you repair it after each attack. Robot respawn every few days. Give it 2x batteries to make it run all night. Trip mines are useful too.
Symphonists only spawn in the fog which only lasts 24 hours. Or there is a button to clear the fog near the flathill portal.
They are quite tanky but not invincible.
Plants do not consume water once they are ready to harvest, so try to wait until they are grown before venturing too far.

Is there much point in keeping old bases around or should you just move everything to the next sector?
>>717178659i'd recommend boosting up learning exp to 3x in sandbox settings as default is too slow
you can level stealth by stealth attacking enemies, it's really useful later on since the stealth damage multiplier lets you kill a lot of enemies in one hit but it's a bitch to level at the start
some day i wish to finish my collection

HOLY SHIT
Devs thought of everything man. didn't know they could do that
>>717178826>>717178808thanks should I wait for them to fix up what they did, hear lasers and shit are broken. nah I meant basic steal. Im just gonna office grind all the tables I guess.
Any tips for the zombie part? I keep getting fucking fucked in that area. the buttons are super annoying they reset.
>>717179053you don't need to move your base every time you unlock a new sector
>>717179053No point in moving away from office sector. It is the transportation hub and the fastest way to everything.
Lategame when you get teleporters you can have your base wherever you want but that takes some time to set up.
Can someone explain to me what the hell the gatekeepers were doing fucking around when it's pretty clear they can easily curbstomp the order?
>>717179149>Any tips for the zombie part?zombies die to one hit in the head and you only need to go through it once, did you not unlock the elevator shortcut afterwards?
>>717179059I have it at 1.1-1.2 didnt feel like "cheating" too much.
Actually sick game for once, thanks /v/. got it for 15 bucks.
>>717179071They can squeeze through doors if the opening is big enough.
>>717179259>elevator shortcut Huh?
>>717179259nah just need to try it again. keep getting bum rushed while running around trying to find the buttons.
>>717179453When you have clicked all the buttons you open an elevator to the upper floor.
My tip is mostly just to locate the buttons and sprint straight to them.
Im not sure if the amount of zombies increase with time or with the amount of buttons pressed but i mostly just rush it and its not that bad.
>>717179542it's number of buttons pressed
>using Maestro set + Fog Lantern for the first time
My stamina drain is so minimal. I am speed.
What are your early game food options? I just went through the trouble of making a pot and filling it with sink water to discover that I don't have the skill required to boil shit
>>717180397Cooking shit on a stove, i just fished in Torii and cooked it til i got enough skill to make soups.
>>717180397cut up the pests and peccary and just throw the pieces into a pan dont worry about saving any unused food, youll level up cooking fast enough for soups to come into play
>>717180492>>717180526Do I need an item that isn't a pot or can I just plop it straight on the grill in the starting kitchen like a BBQ?
>>717180646Frying pan, you find em in kitchens or you can make your own. Should be on in the kitchen in the cafeteria and one in the data farm area.
>>717180397You have to get cooking up to level 3 before you can make soups. So just grill raw meat directly on a frying pan until then. It doesn't take long.
>>717180795Perfect, thank you
Dod they hotfix the laser weapons recharge yet?
>>717175767Welcome mat, pl0x.
>>717140889Not him, and they may have changed it, but the idea was that downstream batteries pull like a consumer from the first battery. So, with the most basic battery, two will last through the night for one thing, but the first battery will last half as long as the second.
The second battery is enough to last through the night for one thing, so no longer needs to be daisy chained, but just installed before the connection to the thing its powering.
>>717159547this whole thing here almost gives me the impression the patch was released sooner than it should've been
What's up with this black fog? I can't see shit!
the patches take extra long because they need to come up with a joke for every single change
>>717180925>>717180975isnt that the latest patch they fixed it?
>>717175767GRAB THE FUCKING POWER CELLSSSS
>>717178791>Shitting with your weapons holsteredLOL
LMAO EVEN
>>717181269I'm surprised how reddit their writing is outside of the game and not that much in the game.

is there anything over there or is it just out of bounds
>>717182045I checked, nothing
>>717182416thanks for saving me the effort anon. Kinda sucks that there isnt a secret over there tho
>>717182045never been there so probably just out of bounds
>>717181227weather event, if you want to stop it you have to go sit on the throne in night realm
as far as weather events go its pretty harmless
>>717182642isn't it supposed to cause the reaper to show up everywhere?
>>717182754it spawns shades and if they touch you the reaper spawns.
>>717182754its supposed to but i only saw him once and he got a blast of laser to the face, never reappeared
i don't wanna resort to the wiki but
what are some good early game throwables? i just hit manufacturing and the soldiers are taking ridiculous amounts of darts
surely there's better shit at this point
>>717182915drink a cup of coffee
>>717180925hope its fixed soon, don't feel like playing till its fixed.
>>717182915thats the best part anon, throwables suck ass for a long
if you really want to level them then craft mugnade/slushie bombs, they level throwing and are actually useful
mugnades use soil bags though which you need for farm plots so they incredibly expensive to craft at the start, especially as very few places respawn them
a game like this that takes place in the mystery flesh pit or something very similar would be amazing
>>717183101>thats the best part anon, throwables suck ass for a longi kinda had that feeling
fastest slurpee slinger in the west it is
>>717182986do i...throw the mug?
>>717183118you might enjoy the rumored flesh dimension that the leyak is supposed to come from.
>>717183253I certainly would if it actually existed
Is this another friendslop game?
>>717183329Nah. It's a surival zombiecraft.
>>717183329Nah it's more like system shock with some crafting
>>717183308It has been hinted at in some of the earlier patches, people assumed it would be coming with both dark matter and cold fusion. Maybe we will get it with future dlc.
>>717183329less slop more coop, it's not procedurally generated for a start
>>717183329it looks like one but it's actually fully playable solo, dare I say it might even be more fun that way
do you think it would it be possible to complete the entire game while riding in a office chair?
>>717183575prepare your anus
>>717127513 (OP)So this game is like voices of the void except multiplayer?
>>717184045no its half life 1 plus scp plus 7 days to die.
>>717183584That would take a lot of ramps.
>>717183670NICE BOSSFIGHT YOU CUNT
is the mountain range the best place to farm 5.56? i need more bullets
>>717184430he was too big for your RAM
>>717184486I dread the "yo mama" bossfight then
https://www.nexusmods.com/abioticfactor/mods/95?tab=description
it's up
>>717183203you also need soil and chains
>>717184619this is just so bionic leg chads can also have set bonuses
Should I start a new save file if I haven't played since they started doing community updates? Around release 0.8
>>717185140yeah, it doesnt take much time to get back to where stopped if you still remember where to go
>>717184530YO MAMA is so FAT! GATE had to build an entire new sector just to contain her!
She's classified as an Anteverse of her own.
>>717179197Judging from the corpse pile in the labs, they could not
Then again that same hallway has a sniper
