As a Scotsman, it's my duty to remind everyone that 99% of Scottish accents you hear in video games and TV are either Americans imitating us, or people from Edinburgh. The latter is actually worse because they're all posh trust fund actors even when they're playing a "poor" character. The Scots variation that's spoken by most of the population sounds absolutely abhorrent. Don't believe me? Come visit one of our schemes.

The only time I've played a game with a "working class" Scots accent was Morag from Xenoblade 2, she speaks a West Scots dialect and while her actor is firmly middle class, she has the Glaswegian tongue and even got the scriptwriter to do some Glesga slang so I found it wonderfully refreshing. It's still confusing when you consider that she's royalty and sounds working class but whatever.

The most common Irish accent in acting is an American one. The problem is that the runners up are from the posh bits of Dublin that sound fairly neutral or close to bong accents, or Northerners who sound like fucking aliens.
Fair's fair the alternative is the Midwest or Cork fuckers that speak in tongues, but it certainly doesn't sound representative of my day to day, outside of indie games getting literally whoever to do their voicing.
